Dian-Qian Road Trip (33) World Natural Heritage - Libo Zhangjiang Scenic Area April 1 (Friday) Qiannan Weather: Overcast with light rain, 9-13°C; today's highest elevation point is 1055 meters. Having been in Dian-Qian for several days, I have gradually adapted to the weather changes here. When the sun comes out, the temperature rises quickly; when the sun sets, it feels much cooler. A daily temperature difference of 15 degrees is common, sometimes reaching 20 degrees. Locals have a saying among the "Eighteen Oddities" that "the same clothes are worn in all four seasons." In the blink of an eye, the Dian-Qian road trip has reached a full month, and it is already the 9th day since entering Guizhou. Today we drove nearly 180 kilometers, arriving in Libo at noon, and toured the Zhangjiang Scenic Area in the afternoon. Zhangjiang Scenic Area (5A), Guizhou’s first World Natural Heritage site, is located in Libo County, Qiannan Prefecture. It consists of the Big and Small Qikong Scenic Areas, Shuichun River Scenic Area, and Zhangjiang Scenic Belt. The area is large and dispersed. We first visited the Small Qikong Scenic Area. The Small Qikong Scenic Area is the main attraction of Zhangjiang Scenic Area, famous for the Small Qikong Ancient Bridge (Photo 1). The scenic area features water landscapes as its main attraction, characterized by exquisite, elegant, ancient, and tranquil scenery, earning it the reputation of a "super bonsai" (Photo 2). Besides the Small Qikong Ancient Bridge, there are attractions such as the Laya Waterfall (Photo 3), 68-step Cascading Waterfall (Photo 4), Double Dragon Waterfall (Photo 5), and Emerald Valley Waterfall (Photo 6). Wolong Pool, due to its good water quality and its ability to absorb more blue-green light refraction, often appears blue-green (Photo 7). Once a crowded and bustling popular scenic spot, now there are few visitors, making it very free and easy to take photos without rushing or competing. We originally planned to visit the Big Qikong as well, but the rain stopped us for the first time. Whether we enter the park again tomorrow depends on the weather. On the way back to the city at dusk, we passed a viewing platform overlooking Libo County (Photo 8), with the Zhangjiang River winding around the city. As the city lights come on, looking out the window, the mountain city’s night remains full of vitality (Photo 9). Tomorrow we will head to Qiandongnan Prefecture. ​
