Wenlin Mansion in Muhe Village, Lianping, Guangdong

Wenlin Mansion, also known as "Upper New House," was built in 1828 (the 8th year of Emperor Daoguang's reign in the Qing Dynasty). Facing southeast from the northwest, it is a three-section, two-wing Hakka walled residence. The total width is 43.6 meters and the depth is 28 meters, covering a building area of 1,221 square meters. The exterior walls are built with blue bricks, with two-story corner towers on both sides. There is a threshing ground in front of the walled house, with entrance gates on both sides. The left entrance gate bears a plaque reading "Blooming Together." In front of the house are a threshing ground and a semicircular feng shui pond. The house has three entrances, with the middle one in a concave style, flanked by stone pillars and bases, and stone door frames with stone bases. Above the door lintel hangs a "Wenlin Mansion" plaque, established by Ouyang Ji, who was appointed as a provincial judicial official in the 25th year of Emperor Daoguang's reign, with the endorsement of Pan Shi'en, a Grand Secretary of the Wenyuan Cabinet and Minister of the Imperial Cabinet. The first section features a wooden screen, while the second section bears the inscription "Jishu Hall." The building is exquisitely constructed, with carved stone window beams, wooden carvings, and beautiful colored paintings depicting lifelike figures, flowers, and birds, all of high artistic value. It is a key cultural relic protection site in Lianping County.
