Wok-Ear House in Lixin Village, Lianping, Guangdong

The Wok-Ear House, also known as "Five-Door House" or "Pot-Ear House," is named for its five-entrance, four-horizontal, one-enclosure Hakka walled house structure. Built by the Lai family during the Qing Dynasty, it covers approximately 2,000 square meters, with 1,200 square meters of building area. The rectangular compound features a fighting gate on each side of the front, with wok-ear-shaped gable walls. The left fighting gate bears a "Gongyuan" plaque. The front has five doors arranged in a row, with the main entrance featuring a concave design, wooden door frames with stone bases, and horizontal gate bars. Inside, there's a wooden screen in the first hall, while the second hall's screen bears the inscription "Chongli Hall." The building features simple beam structures with some wooden carvings as decoration. The side wings of the house have been largely destroyed, with only the central hall and surrounding walls remaining. In front of the house are a threshing ground and a semicircular feng shui pond. This is an immovable cultural relic of Lianping County.
