Back from Tibet! A female college student's real experience!

I decided to go to Tibet when I was 18, and finally made it at 23. Tibet is really amazing, whether on the train, in the city, or at other attractions, it's all worth it! I compiled some tips and combined them with the opinions of local friends I met in Tibet to help those planning to go to Tibet avoid pitfalls: . About self-driving or joining a tour: Nowadays, people prefer free travel. We thought the same at first, but my Tibetan friend advised us against it. It's really impractical. Planning for each attraction, itinerary, food, and accommodation is troublesome, and safety is a big concern. Two girls really don't feel safe, so we chose a tour! . Notes: 1. Be sure to prepare two hats for easy washing. The main reason is that the wind in Tibet is really strong, and many people get altitude sickness because of prolonged exposure to the wind! 2. Remember to bring lip balm, sunscreen, etc. The weather in Tibet is dry, and the UV rays are strong. You can also prepare erythromycin ointment and apply a little in your nostrils before bed to prevent nosebleeds due to dryness! 3. Tibetan butter tea is not as good as sweet tea. Most people don't like it. I suggest choosing sweet tea to avoid waste. Also, I don't recommend Adiao milk tea. The taste is average, but you can try it! 4. Don't buy souvenirs on Barkhor Street, especially bracelets, stones, and specialties. Most are fake and expensive. If you want to buy specialties, go to a specialty supermarket in the city~ 5. After arriving in Lhasa, rest at the hotel for a day. After resting, visit the Potala Palace, Barkhor Street, the Sky Post Office, and Yaowang Mountain. Remember to rest well at the hotel on the first day! 6. There are many delicious foods in Lhasa, such as Ruyilin Yak Hot Pot, Old Guangming Sweet Tea House, Qianzhan Yak Yogurt, and Xunshi Tibetan Land. I think these are very good! . My tour experience: I joined a 6-day pure play small group tour, visiting Everest, Namtso, Yamdrok Lake, Namjagbarwa, Yarlung Zangbo River, Nyingchi, and Karola Glacier. It was great, not rushed, and we visited many places. The tour was recommended by a friend, a local pure play small group. The 6-day tour was 3k+, including three meals, accommodation, attraction tickets, and transportation. The driver was nice, didn't take us shopping, and there were no hidden costs~
