Winter hiking in Tiger Leaping Gorge, a secret not everyone knows!

January to March is the best time for hiking in Tiger Leaping Gorge. Although it is winter, the temperature is moderate, not as hot as summer or as cold as winter, making it a great time to enjoy hiking. There are four routes in Tiger Leaping Gorge, and we recommend the high road hiking route, which is an entry-level hiking route with an excellent experience. You can enjoy the jungle, canyon, ancient road, and waterfall in two days and one night. Day 1: Lijiang—Naxi Yage—28 Bends—Tea Horse Inn—Inn Depart from Lijiang at 8:00 am, drive to Tiger Leaping Gorge Scenic Area, all the way to Naxi Yage, start hiking 28 Bends, climb to the top of the pass at an altitude of 2,650 meters, rest at Tea Horse Inn, and continue to the inn for accommodation. Hiking distance: 12 km Hiking ascent: 200 meters, 6–7 hours Driving distance: 80 km Day 2: Inn—Longdong Waterfall—Mr. Zhang's Inn—Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge—Mr. Zhang's Inn After breakfast at 8:00 am, pass Longdong Waterfall and Guanyin Temple to Tina's or Mr. Zhang's Inn, then go down to Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge, and finally return to Lijiang by car.
