[Tamashiki Shrine/Tokyo] Surrounded by lush greenery

Tamashiki Shrine in Kazo City, Saitama Prefecture 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 This shrine was founded in 703 by Tosando pacification envoy Tajihi no Masato Miyake no Ma. There is also a theory that it was founded by his elder brother Takahi no Mikoto in 136. In 1574, when Uesugi Kenshin dispatched troops to the Kanto region, the shrine was burned down and not only the shrine building but also ancient documents and treasures were burned. Therefore, the details are unknown. Rebuilt in the Edo period in front of the main gate of Kisai Castle in Negoya Village, Saitama County (now Negoya, Kazo City). It is believed to have been moved to its current location around 1627. You can go around to the back of the shrine, and if you go clockwise there are many things to see, such as the thatched-roof Kagura Hall, the sacred ginkgo tree, and the shrine grounds. The sacred tree in particular is over 500 years old and splits into three along the way, giving it a strong sense of life! It is surrounded by lush shrine groves, making it a wonderful environment.
