Exploring the Secret Place in Western Sichuan——Stingcuo

Leaving Yuzixi, we took Provincial Road S434 on the way to Kangding, and made a special detour to Stingcuo to take a look. Located less than 200 meters northwest of Kangding Airport, Stingcuo lies quietly on the plateau. Its name means "quiet lake" in Tibetan. The surface of Stingcuo Lake is as calm as a mirror. After winter, there is still a layer of ice that is neither thick nor thin. The ice and snow near the shore have melted, but there is still ice in the center of the lake. The sky is blue and the clouds are white, and the water and the sky are connected. In the distance, you can see planes taking off from Kangding Airport. No wonder this place is known as the "Pearl of the Kham Plateau" and is also one of the niche places to view the Yala Snow Mountain and the Gongga Snow Mountain. There are few tourists here, basically only one or two cars. On the vast land, there are only lakes, ice, snow-capped mountains, sunshine, blue sky and white clouds, and the insignificant self. I can only sigh again at the wonders of nature. There are no restrictions like those in general scenic spots here. The only ticket fee is 10 yuan per person at a simple booth set up by local Tibetans at the foot of the mountain. The mountain road is quite rugged, so it is recommended to drive off-road up the mountain. It is very suitable for relaxing and watching the planes take off and land on the runway next to you. The Yala Snow Mountain is clearly visible in the distance. Tourists in an off-road vehicle nearby even tried to go down to the lake, running or lying on the ice, looking very unrestrained. I also tried walking on the ice and taking some photos, and I really experienced what it means to be "walking on thin ice" [Sob][Sob] The sunshine here is very strong and you will be a few degrees darker when you come down [Facepalm] However, I still recommend this place for the small loop route in western Sichuan.
