A Stroll Through Iwaki

Day Trip to Iwaki 🚃 Visited the Shiramizu Amida Hall ✨ This Amida Hall, designated as a National Treasure, is the only National Treasure in Fukushima Prefecture! On weekdays, there’s a bus departing from Iwaki Station 🚌. After getting off at the bus stop, it’s about a 5-minute walk to reach the hall. The premises aren’t very large, so you can thoroughly explore it in about 30 to 40 minutes 💡. While photography inside the main hall is prohibited, there was a guide who provided clear explanations about the principal deity and other details! There were many maple trees, so I imagine the autumn foliage must be stunning. Afterward, I headed to the nearby Shiramizu Joban Shrine ⛩️. It’s said to be a power spot for romantic success ♡. After offering my prayers, I took the bus back to Iwaki Station 💨. In the evening, I visited the izakaya "Kaisen Hamakou" near Iwaki Station 🍶✨. The name cleverly emphasizes shellfish ("Kaisen" instead of "Kaishen"), which is quite charming 🎵. True to its name, the menu was rich in shellfish dishes, and everything was absolutely delicious! I also tried the famous Mehikari fish, and it was unbelievably tasty…! ✨ This is something I definitely want to eat again!! They also had a great selection of Fukushima’s sake, making for a delightful evening 😆. A stroll through Iwaki—highly recommended! ☀️
