Sheung Wan Canteen: Southeast Asia Hidden in the Alleys

This little place has been on my wishlist for a while now, and I finally got the chance to try it. The location is a bit hard to find, and it's not particularly eye-catching. The prices are reasonable, and the quality is decent, but it's not as fantastic as the online reviews suggest. It's just average, I guess! 📍Location: Near Sheung Wan MTR Station Exit A2, across from the car park exit. It's on a secluded alley, surrounded by Chinese restaurants. 🏠Environment: Small, seating for about 20 people. There's a bar near the entrance, and wooden tables in the atrium for two to four people, each with tableware. The kitchen is in the back. 🤵🏻Service: No surcharge, only one waiter, but the food is served quickly. 🍽️Lunch: The menu isn't very diverse, with Hong Kong-style tea breaks, Thai, Korean, and Vietnamese dishes. It's like they've brought all of Southeast Asian cuisine together in one restaurant. 🥢Vietnamese Lemongrass and Scallion Oil🐽Pork Chop Omelette Rice + Hot Lemon Water $61 🍳Half-cooked runny fried egg, 🐷diced pork chop, and a pinch of chopped scallions. The rice is generously sized and a good portion, definitely enough for a man. 🍳The runny egg yolk is excellent, both the rice and the pork chop are fried to perfection👍. 🐖The pork chop is well-marinated and crispy😋, but a bit dry, which is its only downside.
