After work, I headed to North Point and was surprised by how quiet it was at night 🤫. We chose a charming little shop with a strong Taiwanese vibe, especially since they serve gua bao 😍😍! 🤤 Corn Soup (Small) - $12 Noticed that every table had ordered this corn soup 🫕. What’s so special about this small bowl? As a fan of corn soup, I had to try it 📝. It’s rich and full of the sweet aroma of corn, leaving a delightful corn flavor in every sip 🌽. 🤤 Gua Bao - $36 I was most excited about the gua bao, stuffed with tender pork belly 🤩, nestled in a soft bun 🍔. Gua bao isn’t commonly found in Hong Kong, but this one was neither greasy nor heavy. The sauce was flavorful, and the addition of pickled vegetables made it refreshingly balanced 🌱. 🤤 Beef Knife-Cut Noodles - $79 Taiwanese cuisine isn’t complete without beef noodles 🍜. For this price, the generous portion of beef 🐮 was a steal. The soup had a mild spiciness 🌶—not overwhelming but leaving a tingling sensation in the throat, which was quite enjoyable 🤪. The beef was tender and well-seasoned, and the knife-cut noodles were perfectly chewy, making the dish a harmonious delight 👍. 🤤 Fried Pork Chop Bento - $65 Since they didn’t have the salted crispy chicken bento 🥲, we opted for the fried pork chop 🍖. The fried chicken thigh looked equally tempting and sizable 🍗. The pork chop was crispy with a thin batter, paired with plenty of broccoli 🥦, making it a healthier option compared to other places. 🤤 Braised Snacks - $10-12 per portion They also offer a variety of braised snacks, all reasonably priced at $10-12 per portion 🤑. Worried about not having enough vegetables, we ordered broccoli, lingzhi mushrooms, and dried tofu 🍄. The portions were surprisingly large, and the braised flavor was aromatic but not overpowering. This little shop truly exudes Taiwanese charm, featuring beautiful hand-painted murals 🖌 and hot air balloons drawn by kids 🎈. When you order a main dish, you can enjoy unlimited refills of Taiwanese milk tea 🧋, winter melon tea, and cold brew tea. We tried the winter melon tea, which wasn’t overly sweet, and today’s cold brew tea was Four Seasons Spring, offering a refreshing aroma 🫖.
