Hong Kong|Shuanglu Rock Stream——Sileitan Waterfall ⛰️

Every time I hike Sai Wan, besides playing at Sai Wan Beach, I also visit the Si Die Tan Waterfall in the Shuang Lu Stream. Shuang Lu Stream is one of Hong Kong's nine major streams. The naturally clear water of Si Die Tan Waterfall makes it a popular summer escape. During the rainy summer months, the waterfall is breathtaking. 🚫🚫🚫 After heavy rain, flash floods can occur in the stream, which can easily lead to fatal accidents. Therefore, it is not recommended to hike immediately after a rainy day. Wait 2-3 days after the rain, when the weather is clear and the mountain trails are safe, before hiking. During the dry season, the water flow is smaller and the waterfall is less noticeable, making it relatively safe. However, the surrounding scenery of the stream is incredibly beautiful. (I was lucky enough to be able to enjoy it during both the rainy and dry seasons. Very satisfying.🥹) 🚶🚶🚶 Hiking Trail: 1-: Sai Wan Pavilion - Bamboo Tong Au - Sai Wan - Siditan Waterfall (Easiest Route) After arriving at Sai Wan Village, follow the path to the left of the beach (keep left) until you reach a small bridge (no need to cross it). Continue left and you will see an arrow. Continue on the left path until you reach the destination. 🌟🌟🌟 The rock climbing route requires both hands and feet. The path occasionally encounters slippery rocks with flowing mountain water, so proceed with extreme caution. 🌟🌟🌟 Occasionally, you'll see people diving into the waterfall, but I strongly advise against it. After all, there are many rocks under the pool, making it difficult to gauge the depth, which could lead to accidents. 🌟🌟🌟 For safety reasons, generally stop at the second pool. This allows for both scenic views and safety. The further you go, the steeper the slope. 🙈 Transportation: 🚌: Take NR29 from 16 Chin Man Street, Sai Kung (in front of McDonald's). Take the Village Bus to the Sai Wan Ting terminal and walk to Sai Wan. 🚕: Take a taxi to Sai Wan Ting and walk to Sai Wan. (Fare varies by area; taxi fares from Sai Kung city center are approximately $127-$135.) (If you prefer a more relaxed experience or depart later, you can return to Sai Wan Ting and take a taxi or the NR29 Village Bus. Remember to pay attention to the last Village Bus departure time and leave early to avoid missing it.) Sai Wan Pavilion has a poor mobile phone signal, so you should find a taxi booking number before setting off. 🚶🚶🚶 Hiking Trail 2-: High Island Reservoir – Long Ke – Sai Wan Shan – Chuitong Au – Sai Wan Transportation: 1:🚌Bus: (On weekdays, Monday to Friday, take bus 94 from Sai Kung Bus Terminus to "Sheung Yiu" stop. Walk to High Island Reservoir, then Long Ke Wan – Sai Wan. ⚠️⚠️⚠️ This hike is a long one and covers the entire first section of the MacLehose Trail, plus part of the second section. The route is physically demanding and should be done according to your ability. In inclement weather, such as persistently high temperatures in summer, the above method is recommended as the easiest route. 2: 🚕Taxi: Take a taxi directly to High Island Reservoir. From High Island Reservoir, start your hike to Long Kei, then continue on to Sai Wan. 3: 🚌Bus: Take bus number 94 in Sai Kung. (⚠️The following bus is only available on holidays and during Hong Kong Red Holidays.) From Diamond Hill Station, take bus number 96R; from Sha Tin Town Centre, take bus number 289R; from Tai Po (Tai Wo) Bus Terminus/Tai Po Centre Bus Terminus, take bus number 74R; from Tsuen Wan (Discovery Park), take bus number 33R to Pak Tam Chung Bus Terminus, transfer to bus number 9A to High Island Reservoir, and then hike from High Island Reservoir East Dam to Long Kei. From Long Kei, continue on to Sai Wan. Note‼ ️ The last bus 289R departs Shatin at 1:30 PM. The last bus 74R departs Tai Po at 10:30 AM. The last bus 33R departs Tsuen Wan at 10:00 AM. Be sure to estimate your chances of catching the bus before departure! #HongKongGoodPlaces #WeekendGoodPlaces #HongKongHikingGoodPlaces #HongKongIsReallyBeautiful
