Nature in the City: Exploring Hong Kong Zoo and Botanical Gardens

#favouriteitinerary #travelanywhere Nestled amidst the vibrant pulse of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Zoo and Botanical Gardens offers a peaceful sanctuary that provides a refreshing escape from the city’s hustle. After a day of exploring the energetic streets, we stumbled upon this tranquil gem—an idyllic retreat filled with lush landscapes and a delightful array of wildlife. While compact, the zoo boasts a variety of animal and bird exhibits, creating a calming environment ideal for unwinding. The best part? It’s completely free to enter. Open to the public at no charge, this hidden gem provides an easily accessible escape for those seeking a peaceful moment without any admission fees. Established in 1860, the Hong Kong Zoo and Botanical Gardens is one of the world’s oldest zoological and botanical centers, as well as the oldest park in Hong Kong, blending rich history with natural beauty. The gardens themselves are divided into two distinct sections. The eastern half, known as the Old Garden, features a children’s playground, aviaries, a greenhouse, and a picturesque fountain terrace garden, making it an ideal spot for families and leisurely strolls. In contrast, the western section, or the New Garden, is home to a diverse range of mammals and reptiles, adding a different dynamic to the park’s atmosphere. The botanical gardens are a visual feast that changes with the seasons. Each visit brings a fresh experience as the flowers bloom in different patterns, offering new colors and fragrances. Whether you’re enjoying the vibrant blossoms of spring or the lush greenery of summer, the gardens are a photographer’s paradise, with scenic paths shaded by fragrant blooms and towering trees. While the zoo is on the smaller side compared to the larger attractions in Hong Kong, it holds its own charm. The zoo is home to a variety of smaller animals, including monkeys, lemurs, and exotic birds, creating an intimate and serene environment. It’s the perfect place to enjoy the beauty of wildlife in a laid-back, peaceful setting. Conveniently located near Exit B of Admiralty Station or Exit D2 of Central Station, this oasis is easy to reach. #thingstodo #travel #naturalwonders #myitinerary #citydaytours #chinatrip

Hong Kong is not just a popular with shopping centers, popular building structure, tourist destinations, hotels & others, but unknown to many, there are also beautiful to go with just like the park near Central, walking distance and very fresh relaxing environment. This trip is not just good for adults but also families with kids coz you can teach them with the names of respective plants & animals, lots of turtles, different species of birds, insects and animals. It is a wide garden and you can really enjoy taking pictures with it. I really highly recommend this to add on your trip when you have a trip to Hongkong, because this is nor just fun but also an educational trip. Nearby have a lot of shopping centers too, churches, and of course near bus stop & mrt station. #hongkongtravel #awesomepic #travelinspiration #traveltips #unforgettableexperiences #animalphotography #travelphotography
