High-Value Omakase at $688 per person in Causeway Bay

📍Hirugetsu 🔎 Shop 301, 3/F, Tower 535, 535 Jaffe Road, Causeway Bay ----- After shopping with relatives at Sogo, we headed to Tower 535 nearby to find some food. My cousin wanted to have Japanese cuisine, so we chose this reasonably priced Omakase restaurant. The restaurant's decor is very Japanese, with wooden tones, dim yellow lighting, and Japanese songs playing, creating a very authentic atmosphere. The 20-course Omakase is priced at $688 per person. It includes appetizers, chawanmushi, sashimi, oysters, sushi, hot dishes, soup, and dessert. If you love sake 🍶, you can also join the 3-hour all-you-can-drink sake session, which costs $98 for women and $168 for men, quite a good deal. The appetizer I loved the most was the flavorful flying fish roe Japanese tamago, which was smooth and sweet. The gold leaf tomato was also a refreshing and appetizing choice. The black chawanmushi looked quite special, with a smooth texture and a slight aroma of squid ink, making it more unique and thoughtful than regular steamed eggs. The overall quality of the sashimi and sushi was quite good. The mikan sea bream had a subtle citrus aroma, and the scallops were thick, tender, and sweet. I usually don't like lean tuna, but the lean tuna here was as good as in Japan, with no fishy taste, rich in fat, and without any tendons. The ark shell was also crunchy and sweet. The sushi rice had the right amount of red vinegar, with a moderate hardness, and was decorated with a bit of seaweed powder and rice seasoning, making it look exquisite. The tempura was crispy and flavorful, even with a pre-added slightly salty soy sauce. A surprising highlight was the tempura abalone. The final dessert was vanilla ice cream with a croissant-pressed waffle, crispy with a bit of chill. If you're not afraid of gaining weight, this sinful dessert is indeed a great choice.
