Although the transportation is not very convenient, requiring about a 20-minute walk from Shau Kei Wan Station, the exhibits are very rich and somewhat scattered. The exhibition is set in the Lei Yue Mun Fort on the hilltop, consisting of 11 themed exhibition halls converted from casemates. It showcases the evolution of Hong Kong's coastal defense and military history since the Tang Dynasty, as well as Hong Kong's resistance against the Japanese invasion. The museum features a wide variety of exhibits, supplemented with textual and pictorial explanations, along with multimedia audiovisual programs, providing visitors with a deeper understanding of Hong Kong's coastal defense history.
