Opening hours: March to September Monday to Wednesday and Friday to Sunday: 10:00 - 18:00 October to February Monday to Wednesday and Friday to Sunday: 10:00 - 17:00 Closed: Thursdays (except public holidays), the first and second day of the Lunar New Year The Hong Kong Museum of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and Coastal Defence focuses on the history of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the coastal defence and military changes in Hong Kong, highlighting the central themes of "War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression" and "Coastal Defence" to defend the country. The museum has injected more multimedia elements into its permanent exhibitions and historical trails, telling the history of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the story of Hong Kong’s coastal defence with novel interpretation techniques and thematic forms, so as to inherit and promote the spirit of patriotism. The museum consists of three main parts: the reception area, the 8th floor fortress and the historical trail. Since the museum was converted from military relics, there are many outdoor areas. Main introduction of the fortress on the 8th floor: The Lei Yue Mun Fortress is an exhibition hall, displaying the "Hong Kong Coastal Defense Story" permanent exhibition. The 11 theme exhibition halls converted from cellars display the history of Hong Kong's resistance to Japanese invasion of China, as well as the relationship between Hong Kong and the country's coastal defense and military changes. Introduction to the Historic Trail: Overlooking the Lei Yue Mun Strait, the Museum Historic Trail has unique natural scenery accompanied by military relics scattered around the headland. The museum provides free guided tours on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
