The Hong Kong Palace Museum is a revelation of treasures, all found in Hong Kong

Known as the 'Hong Kong Palace Museum', it is located at 8 Museum Drive, West Kowloon Cultural District, Yau Tsim Mong District, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. It is a thematic museum dedicated to showcasing Chinese cultural arts, with a total construction area of about 30,000 square meters. The museum was established through a collaboration between the Palace Museum and the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority. The museum building was designed by Rocco Design Architects Associates, with Rocco Yim as the chief architect, and constructed by China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited. The architecture of the museum offers a new interpretation of traditional aesthetics, drawing inspiration from three major elements: traditional Chinese architecture, Chinese art, and the urban landscape of Hong Kong. It references the architecture and collections of the Beijing Palace Museum and reinterprets the culture of the Palace Museum by blending ancient and modern, as well as integrating Chinese and Western styles. The museum's color scheme is primarily based on the hues of the Forbidden City, complemented by beige, dark red, and cool gray. Visitors can enjoy views of the Hong Kong Island skyline and Lantau Island from the atrium. The museum has six floors, with two underground and four above ground; it houses nine exhibition halls, with Halls 1 to 7 dedicated to thematic exhibitions and Halls 8 to 9 for special exhibitions. The museum comprehensively and deeply displays the treasures of the Beijing Palace Museum, including paintings, ceramics, bronzes, jades, and other art collections from the Palace Museum.
