Sai Kung West Country Park, located on the western side of the Sai Kung Peninsula, was established in 1978. The park covers 3,000 hectares and encompasses the entire area from Pak Tam Au to Yung Shue O, with the exception of a few isolated villages. Pak Sha O Village is the best-preserved historic village within Sai Kung West Country Park, still retaining the character of its original buildings, including relief murals and ancient door frames. The park's most popular areas include Wong Chuk Wan, Tai Mong Tsai, Pak Tam Chung, Yung Shue O, and Lai Chi Chong. Hoi Ha, home to a marine park, attracts many visitors every weekend. The picturesque Zhangshang Plateau is a favorite for hikers and campers.
