[Kumegawa Kumano Shrine/Tokyo] A shrine with a good old feel

Kumegawa Kumano Shrine in Higashimurayama, Tokyo 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 This shrine is located a little off the Fuchu Kaido road. The date of its founding is unknown. It is said that Nitta Yoshisada stationed his troops here during the Battle of Kumegawa in the Genkō era (1331-1334). It is the guardian deity of the old Kumegawa village. It was ranked as a village shrine in 1871. The shrine building is magnificent and has a good old feel to it. Next to it are the shrines of Ise Jingu, Shinmeisha, Ontake Shrine, and Inari Shrine.
