Moxingling is located in the Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area in Guangzhou. It is the highest peak of Baiyun Mountain, with an altitude of 382 meters. Moxingling was originally called Biyun Peak. Between the Song and Ming dynasties, it was known as the "First Mountain." It was not until the Kangxi period of the Qing dynasty that it was renamed "Moxingling." The name comes from the fact that it is located high above the Pearl River Delta, and the stars in the sky can be seen from afar. It is also known as the "First Peak of the South." The "Wishing Tree" and "Lock Heart Valley" on Moxingling are major features of the peak. The "Jinxiu Nantian" archway inscribed by Marshal Zhu De is an important landmark on the peak. The inscription "Moxingling" on the "Ancient Star Stone" symbolizes perfection and good fortune.
