Hiking

Hiking alone to Xincuo, 7.29 kilometers round trip in less than three hours||Xincuo round trip takes a steady 3 hours, with an elevation gain of 15 meters, the highest point being 3830 meters. Came to Nyingchi just for Xincuo, I don't recommend you follow my special forces travel style. Lhasa-Nyingchi, arrived at 15:24, picked up the car at the station and headed straight to Xincuo, arrived at Xincuo Inn at 19:57. Note, the navigation on the map is not accurate for this Xincuo Inn. When you see the Xincuo Bridge, don't cross it, it's on the left-hand side, in the yard with signs for a restaurant and supermarket. The accommodation environment is average, as there is only one place to stay, so there's no choice. The room is damp and cold, with an electric blanket. If you don't turn it on, it's cold; if you do, you'll get a sore throat after a night. The hot water takes ten minutes to get slightly warm. The next day, set off for Xincuo at 8:00. After crossing the Xincuo Bridge, there is a row of yellow houses, which is where the motorbike and horse riding start. You can see red motorbikes, but there were none at my time. The motorbikes are four-wheeled, similar to ATVs, and quite stable. Walk through the small path between the motorbikes, and you'll see the river and grassland. Keep walking forward, and when you see the forest, you're not far from the destination. At 8:56, you need to walk through a section of waterlogged road to reach the forest entrance. You can walk on the pile of stones on the right side of this road. The water didn't reach my shoe soles, and walking on it won't get your shoes wet. At 9:24, I reached the destination, 3.59 kilometers, taking 1 hour and 21 minutes. After walking through the forest, I saw a blue food truck, and further ahead is Xincuo Lake. When I arrived, there was still morning fog. At 9:42, the morning fog drifted away. What I saw was still the limited edition; what they saw was the sunny version. About Xincuo sanitation fee: I didn't see anyone, nor did I know who to pay, so I didn't pay. Suggestions for solo female hikers: I suggest starting after 9 am because the forest you must pass through is a bit eerie when the sun hasn't shone in. On the return trip, it's different when the sun is out. It's best to hike with a companion. There's a section in the forest with no signal, and at an altitude of over 3800 meters, altitude sickness might occur. If you want to see the morning fog, it’s around 1 degree Celsius when you set off in the morning, so it's quite cold. I recommend wearing a fleece under a windbreaker. If you start at 9 am, you don't need it; the sun is warm. I wore a windbreaker on the return trip, which was just right. When I was walking back, people coming from Basongcuo arrived one after another. The accommodation at Basongcuo is better than at Xincuo. The scenery is beautiful with or without morning fog. At 11:00, left Xincuo for Nyingchi, returned the car at 15:30, and arrived in Lhasa at 21:00. Don't complete it in one day like I did. It's best to spend one day at Basongcuo, set off for Xincuo the next morning, return to Basongcuo in the afternoon, and then start the next destination. In conclusion: Xincuo is worth it. Every casual shot is a beautiful scene, a must-visit spot in Nyingchi.
