[First visit of the year] North Entrance Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine

#0YenTravelJanuary2025 We went to Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine for our first visit of the year! This shrine has a sacred atmosphere. Many people were there to pray, and we arrived around 1:30 PM. We waited in line for about an hour before we could even pray! There was also a temporary parking lot available at Yoshida Elementary School grounds (until Saturday the 4th). We parked there and walked there! Further inside, there were a few stalls selling Oshino Hakkai kusamochi (grass mochi), sweet red bean soup, amazake (sweet sake), and more! There are many trees and shade, so it's chilly even in the sun. 🧊💦Don't forget to bring warm packs and other warm clothing!
