Yangpu Salt Field

The Yangpu Salt Fields are located on the east side of Yantian Village, Yangpu Economic Development Zone, Danzhou City, Hainan Province, covering an area of ​​about 500,000 square meters. They were first built in the Song Dynasty (960-1279 AD). The Yangpu Salt Fields are bordered by Xinying Bay to the east, Yantian Village to the west, Xipu Village to the south, and the east side of Jiayang Road to the north. They include salt troughs, salt mud pools, seawater storage pools, brine pools, water diversion channels, and the remaining walls of an ancient salt shop. There are more than 7,300 existing salt tanks, and field statistics have confirmed that there are 6,171 salt drying tanks and 122 brine pools. The Yangpu Salt Field is China's earliest and best-preserved ancient salt field that uses the original solar-dried salt-making method, recreating the ancient Chinese industry and civilization.
