Tai'an Building in Dabu

Located within Dabu County, the Tai'an Weilou was built during the Qing Dynasty and is a rare stone fortress in China. Its exterior is constructed of stone, earning it the nickname "Hakka's Water Cube." The design of the building is ingenious, featuring resistance to wind, water, earthquakes, and fire. The architectural style of Tai'an Weilou reflects the spirit of the Fujian Hakka people living together in harmony as a clan. The ground floor of Tai'an Weilou is for family housing, while the second and third floors feature exhibitions of Hakka architecture and intangible cultural heritage. Tai'an Weilou has an admission fee, is a 4A-level tourist attraction, and is a national key cultural relics protection unit. It is within walking distance from the county town to Tai'an Weilou.
