Hua'e Building

King of Round Buildings | Hua'e Building Hua'e Building, located in Dabu, Meizhou, Guangdong, was built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, and has a history of more than four hundred years. It is a representative work of Hakka earth buildings and is known as 'Guangdong's Number One Round Building'. My trip to Shanxi ignited my interest in ancient architecture, so after many years, I visited again. The exterior of Hua'e Building is a weathered earthen wall that looks too ordinary, so much so that it does not inspire the desire to enter and explore. But once inside, one is instantly attracted by the beauty of its simple and smooth design. The earth building is a perfect circular ring, low on the inside and high on the outside, with double rings nested within each other. No matter where one stands, the view is filled with aesthetically pleasing geometric patterns. The weather is incredibly hot, but it feels so good to be on the road!
