Chiryu Shrine ⛩️🏯

One of the best shrines in Tokaido and on the information board Chiryu Shrine is counted as one of the three major shrines of Tokaido (Mishima, Atsuta, and Ike-Koi-Funa) and flourished as a temple town. Ike-Koi Funashuku, south of Chiryu-jinja Shrine, still remains the traces of the old Tokaido, where Ryounji Temple is located. It is now located under National Route 1 and National Route 155, so we did not see the shrine when passing by and did not stop. But in the area where the old Tokaido stood, there are ruins of the castle and an old well.
