Lantern Festival Celebrations

During the Spring Festival, Beijing's lantern festivals offer a visual feast and a joyful atmosphere. There are large lantern festivals at Wenyu River Park, Garden Expo Park, and Daxing Rose Park. We also recommend a lesser-known lantern festival at Yizhuang Boda Park. Boda Park is located in the core area of Beijing's Yizhuang Economic and Technological Development Zone, covering an area of about 180,000 square meters. In summer, it is known as the "green lung" of the Yizhuang area, with its lush trees. In winter, the children's playground and sports facilities are also popular. During the Spring Festival, a free lantern festival is held. Several groups of festive-themed lanterns bring holiday blessings to the public, including a cute lucky snake, a colorful deer symbolizing happiness and longevity, and a graceful swan. The poetry lanterns hanging from the treetops showcase knowledge and culture. We visited during the day, but the lanterns are even more beautiful at night. If you drive, you can park in the large parking lot on the south side of the park, which is said to be free during the lantern festival.
