Blossoming Dunhuang: Chang Shana's 80 Years of Art and Design Exhibition.

Dunhuang's cultural heritage is dazzling, and its humanistic stories are long-lasting. Chang Shuhong and Chang Shana are important representatives in modern Chinese art history. Dunhuang's significance to the China Academy of Art and society is self-evident, both for its historical value and its contribution to contemporary life. Under Lin Huiyin's guidance, Chang Shana entered the design field, using Dunhuang's cultural heritage as a guide to create new practical art. In the early 20th century, many predecessors like Chang Shuhong experienced the pain of war and national turmoil, leading to a deep-rooted patriotism. This sentiment was deeply ingrained in their souls, influencing their actions and thoughts. Inspired by her father, Chang Shana dedicated her talents to the revival of Chinese culture. Her influence spans art, design, and education. Chang Shuhong once said, "If there's a next life, I want to be Chang Shuhong again to fulfill my unfinished dreams!" At 94, Chang Shana often says, "How did I get old? I still have so much to do!" She feels the historical opportunity of this era and is determined to seize it. At 12, Chang Shana followed her father to Dunhuang. Her study of Dunhuang murals was an active integration, not passive learning. Encouraged by adults, she worked hard, developing a strong foundation despite her youthful inexperience. This exhibition showcases her unique artistic style, developed over 80 years of exploration. She often says, "Art and design must build on the past, drawing from traditional culture and nature. Understanding cultural heritage is key to innovation."
