Kek Lok Si

Kek Lok Si Temple (also known as the Turtle Mountain Temple) is the largest Chinese Mahayana Buddhist temple in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. From a high-altitude perspective, it's right in the middle of a mountain. It's truly stunning, living up to its reputation. The largest Guan Yin statue in Penang sits atop a high hill, offering a breathtaking atmosphere. The architecture, reminiscent of a traditional Chinese shrine, is stunning. Some parts are currently under construction, fueled by the fervent faith. The most striking feature of this temple is the Phra Ram 6 Pagoda (Pagoda of 10,000 Buddhas), completed in 1930. This pagoda is decorated with 10,000 bronze and white stone Buddha statues. Admission is free, but there's also a paid section (RM2). The pagoda and Guan Yin statue are located on the top, offering stunning views of Penang and the sea. There are also places to make merit and pray, offering various blessings. To get there, you can easily call a Grab or take bus 201 or 204. It's a short walk to the temple.
