Calling in the Summer Version of You: A Transformational Experience | Jackson Bottom Wetlands
May 18, 2025 (UTC-7)ENDED
Hillsborough
About this event
You're on a path of growth and discovery. How will the summer ahead be an expression of an everchanging version of you?
For most people, their unconscious mind is on autopilot, creating the same life experiences over and over again. They are stuck in a rut.
But you aren't most people. Once you woke up to your truth about using alcohol and substances, and stepped over that threshold of conscious living, you've begun an upward spiral.
You have to be alert and aware, though, because if you don't take charge of your energy and curiosity by guiding it in the way you want to go, old patterns and beliefs begin pulling at you through things like: images you see on social media, advertisements, and reconstructed memories that make it seem rosier in the rearview mirror than it actually was. People who don't get it.
Before you know it, the unlimited future before you may start to feel less-than-possible.
You may find yourself dimming your own light, feeling less-than people around you, letting the inner critic keep you from fulfilling your destiny. Fear of disappointing yourself and others overshadows your big dreams.
NOT ON MY WATCH!
I want to help you head that off, to help you prepare the fertile soil for your beautiful garden of a life to grow and thrive this summer.
How will we do this?
This is an experience of connection, empowerment, and guidance for your unconscious mind.
From the moment you step into our event space-- clean, simple, constructed from natural materials built to last-- with giant windows for natural light-- views of wild nature and all her wisdom-- a giant covered patio-- in a nature center that is closed to the public on Sundays.. .....A SPACE JUST FOR US.....
Your mind immediately expands to become part of the space. Uncluttered, clear, full of possibility.
You start connecting with like-minded souls through conversation starter cards.
You sip a delicious mocktail with that extra ingredient of L.O.V.E.
You begin to see yourself reflected back in the experience of others.
Throughout your day of self-discovery, creativity, imagination, and connection:
You go inward through guided meditations to experience your calm, resourceful natural state.
You play some lighthearted games for fun, lightheartedness, and laughter.
You cast the light of love to dissolve the shadows of fear.
You reflect on your experience and access your own inner voice through journaling.
You take a walk on a path surrounded by vibrant green, open to messages from something greater
You give and receive practical skills and knowledge about ways to create your luscious sober life.
You leave feeling more grounded, resilient, with a quiet confidence in who you are and who you are becoming. Seen, heard, and heart full.
ALSO INCLUDED:
Special guests sharing resources!
Giveaways!
A special NA beverage!
Snacks!
WHO THIS IS FOR:
This event is for sober female/non-binary humans anywhere in their first few years of sobriety (or beyond) who want to feel more confident, resilient, trusting, and a feeling of oneness.
HOW THIS EVENT IS DIFFERENT:
-You don't have to wonder if other people there "get it" because WE GET IT.
-You don’t need to be good at small talk. You can show up as your own brave self, exactly as you are.
-Leave feeling lighter, more clear, and with a stronger sense of your own confidence and desires for the months ahead.
-This event is intentionally designed and facilitated by a credentialed transformational nature-connected life coach, certified social health facilitator, sober from alcohol and weed since 2018, self-guided.

Tour: Two Mummified People, Thomas Bateman & Weston Park Museum | Weston Park Museum
May 20, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Sheffield
Thomas Bateman is well known in the Derbyshire and South Yorkshire as a local barrow digger, the “Barrow Knight”. However, less is known about his interest in human remains from other countries, including Egypt.
The two mummified people that that the city has had amongst its museum collection for over 100 years were originally part of Thomas Bateman’s extensive collection. The collection was initially lent, and then acquired by, what was then known as Sheffield City Museum (now Weston Park Museum) at the end of the 19th century.
How did a local man, who never stepped foot in Egypt, acquire these specific human remains and why did he seek to obtain them for his collection?
Join us for this special museum tour to explore the connection between the two mummified people and a figure who, by the time he died in the middle of the 19th century, was recognised nationally as an influential figure in the field of archaeology.
Please donate if
you're
able and help keep your museums open and available for everyone to enjoy. Suggested donation £5 – when you select your tickets, please scroll
down
and select ‘General Admission + Donation’.
The tour was designed by True Talk Africa CIC, a local Sheffield-based organisation which
sought
to provide holistic narratives about Africa and the Black British presence in England and Wales.
Part of a programme of displays, events and activities celebrating 150 years of Weston Park Museum in 2025.

Agincourt | Dagnall Street Baptist Church
May 20, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
St Albans
The battle of Agincourt (25 October 1415) is one of the most famous battles in history. But what really happened on that fateful day? And why, over the six centuries which have followed, has this battle been so much remembered and reinvented? In her talk, Anne Curry, Emeritus Professor at the University of Southampton will be exploring both the myth and reality of Agincourt.
Anne was Chair of the Trustees of the Agincourt 600 charity for the anniversary in 2015. She is the author of several books on the battle, including
Agincourt: A New History
(History Press) and
Great Battles: Agincourt
(Oxford UP) and consultant to the new museum at Agincourt which opened in 2019. She is Arundel Herald Extraordinary, the first female herald in England.
This lecture will be available in person at Dagnall Street Baptist Church and also online via Zoom. Attendance is free to members; £5 for non-members. Please click on the button above right to register. You will then receive confirmation of your registration by email return. Registration closes at 3.30pm on Tuesday 20 May.
As this is the last lecture of the season, it will be followed by refreshments in the church hall for all attending in person.
All those registered will be emailed the Zoom joining instructions by 4pm on the day of the lecture. If you have not received this by 5pm, please contact us using the email address below. NB. If you are registering two or more members to attend via Zoom, and want each of them to receive the link in their own email inbox, these details need to be entered at registration.
It is important to note that SAHAAS operates hybrid talks relying on two volunteers who work very hard behind-the-scenes on the technology to ensure we can offer this service to those unable to attend at the church. Occasionally despite our best efforts technology works against us. There may be a delay in acknowledging an issue but this is only because we are working out how to resolve it.
If you have any questions, please email Gill Girdziusz via lectures@stalbanshistory.org

boci
welcome to uniXia
boci is a Bradford raised, Bristol based violinist and songwriter creating dreamfolk pop. Her use of violin loops, synths and effects pedals allows her to create cinematic, layered textures which evolve into dynamic full band arrangements.
Classically trained, boci uses her violin freely and expressively as another voice, taking inspiration from folk playing styles. boci's music is deeply connected to her relationship with the natural world and time spent walking in the mountains of Scotland, Wales and the Lake District.
After the release of her courageously raw debut album we are each other, this will set us free in 2022, boci has cemented herself as a staple of the alt-folk scene in Bristol and beyond. She's played two UK headline tours (selling out multiple venues) and is embarking on a third one in May to celebrate the release of her sophomore album.
scenes from uniXia steps into a bold, maximalist musical vision set in a faraway world. Tracing a journey through different parts of the magical uniXia, boci uses the expansive terrain to explore her own emotional landscape in a way that's both intimate and playful. Themes of loss, longing, healing, and hope run throughout the album.
Lucy Mellenfield
2025 sees the release of Lucy Mellenfield’s highly anticipated debut album, Tell The Water, She Will Listen. She embarks on her pre-release tour this summer. The songs explore her love of jazz, folk, and alternative genres, interweaving improvisation and folk melodies, immersive soundscapes and vivid lyric writing.
Fragility is a core theme running through the album, drawing on personal perspectives on heartache and loss, societal pressures, the human condition, and women’s health. Lucy is joined by a group of exceptional musicians, threading layers of colour, texture, and depth into each song. Expect to be moved by the honesty and raw nature of her soul-baring performance.

More about FRESH Thursdays...
FRESH happens every Thursday during our open seasons. It is a platform to bring you fresh new music served up alongside a homecooked plant based meal, board games and candles. It can be hard to get people out to hear music that they don’t know yet & this is why we decided to offer dinner as an incentive to try something new, these gigs are cosy, communal nights and often you get to hear completely new music for the very first time. The music varies across multiple genres but it is usually fairly gentle listening type music & well suited to a relaxed Thursday night. The gigs are seated and during the sets the audience is very music focused & quiet with time to chat in between the sets and at the end when we keep the bar open.
We cook the food from scratch usually and dinner is well suited to lover of vegetables and wholesome cooking, it's usually something like a dhal, veggie chilli, tacos, roast veg or similar, our base line is vegan sometimes with veggie options. We can cater for nut/gluten free meals, but nuts & gluten are used in the kitchen so if you have serious allergies please bear that in mind.
Doors at 7pm, we aim to get dinner ready by 8pm and will bring it to you when its ready… music usually starts around 8pm, sometimes later if it’s a busy night for food (we are a tiny team) and we aim to have the music finished by 10-10.15 pm. We can only guarantee dinner with advance tickets and these days we cap dinner at 60 meals and the food tickets do often sell out.
We hope/think it's obvious that quality music and dinner for £10 is all about culture & community and that these events cost us money… If you can afford to purchase a higher level ‘Cobalt supporters‘ ticket we appreciate the additional help towards costs very much.
