Luke Donforth , a well known contra dance caller, will be in Calgary visiting this May long weekend and has offered to call a Contra Dance for us on Saturday, May 17 at the Unitarian Church . Luke is a caller and choreographer based in Burlington, VT. As a caller, he brings warmth to the stage and focuses on getting everyone in the hall moving joyously to the music. He calls regularly in Vermont and at dance weekends all over North America. He’s a founding member of the Mad Robin Callers Collective, and has written a multitude of dances for all levels. This is a wonderful opportunity for our Calgary community to experience a great caller, and to be exposed to the larger contra dance community around the world. Live music by Chris Gregg, Erin McCullough and guests. No experience is necessary to enjoy this dance. Come alone, or with a partner. Tickets are $25.00 at the door, and $20.00 in advance.
