Presented by Calgary Folk Music Festival The 2014 debut Black is the Color from Lucette, the stage moniker of Edmonton-born Lauren Gillis, unveiled a clever songwriter steeped in rustic roots/Americana traditions…with a tinge of spacey indie pop. Both buildings were erected in 1901 with construction being complete in 1903. Our name ‘The Pioneer’ hallmarks to 1908 when the building became known as The Pioneer Meat Market, home to famous Canadian, Pat Burns’ company. The buildings we currently operate are steeped in history, and have changed hands countless times and been home to many incredible businesses over its 115 years and counting.
