Presenting: Wenches! by Maya LeRoux and Bianca WaechterMedieval wenches and roommates, Bertegilde and Nortburga, have the revolutionary idea of starting a podcast, sparked by their general frustration of..ya know..being peasants... and women… in the Dark Ages. Through music and spoken word, Down the Mineshaft explores the lifelong impact of loss in early childhood, and the unsettling experience of becoming older than your own father. David William Hughes is a musician and performing artist whose work combines music, comedy and historical research. David made his international debut in 2007 at the Montreux Jazz Festival and studied music at the University of Oxford. Matt is presenting his first serious play for the theatre, having previously worked for a local BBC radio station. He directs, acts, and voice-acts in his own lessons. Details wie ihre Haltung oder ihre Bewegung schaffen durch Linien, Farben oder Kontraste eine Verbindung und ein Spannungsfeld zwischen Mensch und Raum. Ein weiteres zentrales Element meiner Arbeit sind Oberflächen, die durch Abnutzung, Verwitterung oder Bearbeitung Geschichten erzählen. Diese Texturen dienen oft als Basis für die Bearbeitung meiner Fotos, wobei ich Mehrfachbelichtungen und farbliche Veränderungen einsetze, um neue Perspektiven zu schaffen. Das Ergebnis sind Bilder, in denen Menschen zu flüchtigen Erscheinungen werden, eingefangen in kaum erfassbaren Umgebungen. Creating Blues: An Intro to Cyanotype Printing In this workshop, you will learn the technique of cyanotype printing, also known as blueprinting. This ancient method is the earliest form of photocopying. The foundation of the blueprint is sturdy paper treated with a special light-sensitive solution. Once this paper is exposed to light, it takes on the characteristic cyan blue color. The areas where you place negatives, plants, or objects remain white, allowing you to give your photos the blues. You will experiment with various materials on paper and textiles, and you’ll leave with a unique series of collages. After this workshop, you will have the knowledge and experience to continue exploring this beautiful technique on your own. WITCH 'N' MONKRadically manipulated flutes, anarchic soprano vocals and analogue electronics Defiantly original duo Witch 'n' Monk combine Mauricio Velasierra’s radically electrified Latin American flutes, with Heidi Heidelberg’s jazz-punk guitar/bass and anarchic soprano vocals. The music travels seamlesly from structured arrangements to wild improvisations, using a myriad of control pedals and labyrinthine signal paths to orchestrate live. The essence of their collaboration is encapsulated in the name; dark/light, feminine/masculine, punk/Romantic. Creating contrast is fundamental to their work and thus they tread upon the edges of genres. Celebrated in jazz, contemporary classical and DIY music scenes they have played prestigious venues and festivals such as the Royal Festival Hall, Berlin, London and Umea Jazz Festivals and Paris' La Cigale. Their latest album was released on John Zorn's legendary Tzadik Records in 2020 to critical acclaim.
