Unlike any other Kirtan we've been to! I'm no musician but found so much joy by just letting go into the songs and mantras! I experienced such an energy surge through my body and felt a deeper connection to everything. ** To be notified about future Oneder Kirtan events join the mailing list here: https://bit.ly/3XkOqBX This music provides a chance for us to transcend our human boundaries. It speaks to the core of us, reminding us that there truly is no separation and deep within we are all one. We sing world heart mantras from the sacred traditions of India, Polynesia, Western & Native America. The word mantra derives from Sanskrit, which is divided into “man” meaning mind and “tra” meaning to free from. Mantras are quite literally tools to free the mind. Kirtan digs into the heart’s deepest well to touch and be touched by the Divine Unifying Presence. Singing these powerful healing mantras together, we have the opportunity to merge with the sound and true essence of oneness & love that these rhythmic ancient songs open within us. 🌞 7:30 -9 pm. *Doors open at 7:15pm* 🌞 $20 Online $25 Door 🌞 Over 18 Event - We are asking that children please stay home or have babysitters so that mum and dad can get the most out of the evening. An illustrated talk by Rebecca Salter, artist and President of the Royal Academy of Arts, London, introducing the craftspeople behind the materials and tools used in Japanese woodblock printing and some more unusual uses of the technique. Rebecca Salter studied at Bristol Polytechnic and then at Kyoto City University of the Arts in Japan, where she lived for six years. While living in Kyoto, she studied traditional Japanese woodblock printing with Professor Kurosaki Akira and has since written two books on the subject. Her interest in printmaking is combined with her main practice in painting. Until 2016 she was Associate Lecturer on the MA Printmaking Course at Camberwell College of Art, University of the Arts, London. Salter exhibits regularly in London and internationally, and in 2011 she had a major retrospective into the light of things at the Yale Center for British Art, New Haven, Connecticut. A monograph was published to coincide with the show. An accompanying exhibition at Yale University Art Gallery explored links between Western artists and Japan. She has also been artist in residence twice (2003 and 2011) at the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation, Connecticut. Form and Space: Victoria | White Eagle Polish hall

Jul 16, 2025 (UTC-8)
White
Arts
Fine Art
Hosted by psychologist Hillary McBride, this event is about creating the space to step outside of the ways of being a body that are structured, familiar, and prescribed, to tune into our bodily voice, and practice moving in a way that feels authentic, giving unexplored or unexpressed places inside of us form through our movement and words. When what is inside of us moves into the space around us, we can begin to encounter more space inside while also giving it form. The two hours will be comprised of free movement (ecstatic dance), writing, and group sharing. For those of you new to free movement, the purpose of this is choice and bodily autonomy while engaging with movement to play, express, and experience your bodily wisdom. You get to choose how you want to move your body. If that means laying down and listening to the music, connecting to your wild self, or waltzing your inner critic back and forth, all of it is just as it just as it should be. This is a space for you to practice moving how you want to move, and then have time to write and verbally integrate the experiences you have. Writing and dialogue prompts for integration will be offered. Please bring some water, your journal and a pen, and wear loose clothing to move in with layers to remove as you warm up. We will be moving with shoes off. Space is wheelchair accessible. Some tickets will be available for cash at the door, and if finances are an issue please let us know so we can find a way to include you. Refunds will be unavailable 24 hours before the event begins Information Source: Hillary McBride | eventbrite

Welcome to Hands & Hearts Space! Date: 18/04/2025 Time: 10am-11:30am Location: 2 Nannine Avenue, White Gum Valley, WA 6162 About Us: Hands & Hearts Space offers mindful art workshops for children, providing a safe and supportive environment for self-expression, emotional growth, and resilience. Each workshop is thoughtfully designed to help children explore and express their thoughts and feelings in a healthy, creative way. Through a blend of art and mindfulness-based activities, we empower young minds to navigate their emotions, build confidence, and foster meaningful connections with themselves and others. About the Founder: Hello, I’m Annabelle! I’m a registered teacher, artist, and passionate advocate for the transformative power of creativity. With a background in education, fine art and certification in therapeutic art practices, I’ve combined my expertise to create a supportive space where children can freely express themselves, build confidence, and develop emotional resilience through art and mindfulness. Is This Workshop Right for Your Child? Our Mindful Art Workshop is designed for children aged 6-10 years of age. This session is especially helpful for: ✨ Fostering creativity and playfulness – Inspiring imagination and open-ended exploration, giving children the freedom to express themselves. ✨ Encouraging social connection – Providing a safe space for children to interact, collaborate, and build friendships through shared creative experiences. ✨ Navigating emotional difficulties – such as anxiety, self-doubt, or social difficulties, and seeking gentle strategies for managing big emotions. ✨ Neurodivergence – including children who resonate with traits of autism, ADHD, or other neurodifferences (with or without a formal diagnosis). ✨ Adjusting to life changes – including shifts in school, friendships, or family dynamics. What This Workshop Isn’t: This isn’t a traditional art class, so children won’t be focusing on improving artistic skills or creating “perfect” artwork. Instead, the emphasis is on using the art process as a mindful tool for self-exploration and reflection, encouraging kids to express themselves freely without worrying about the end result. Who May Find This Workshop Unsuitable: Our goal is to provide a welcoming and supportive space for all children. However, this group may not be the best fit for those currently experiencing more serious mental health challenges. If your child requires additional support, we recommend consulting a psychologist or psychiatrist. Your GP can provide a referral to connect you with the right services. If you're unsure whether this group is the right fit, please feel free to reach out—we're happy to chat and help guide you toward the best support for your child! What to Bring: An apron or an old T-shirt to protect your clothes from art materials (a few spare aprons will be available if needed).A sealed water bottle.Comfortable clothing.
