world music @ temperance | TwoManTing | Temperance
Jun 21, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Royal Leamington Spa
TwoManTing was formed in 2004 when Sierra Leonean drummer Jah-man Aggrey, and guitarist Jon Lewis were playing together as part of dance band, Le Cod Afrique, at venues such as Montreux Jazz Festival and WOMAD.
The duo immediately became a hit on the UK festival circuit with their brand of bouncy “Sunshine Afro-roots”. Shows have included Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Wilderness and Green Man Festivals to name but a few. Using guitar, live loops and percussion the duo creates a highly danceable full band sound and their reputation has earned them recent support slots with the likes of Tinariwen, The Oyster Band, Edward 2 and Dub Colossus. Their music is often featured on BBC Radio 3 and 6Music.
Shows feature palm-wine, acoustic dub and highlife grooves with thoughtful and thought-provoking lyrics on subjects ranging from childhood memories, political protest and er….duvets.
The latest album “Rhymes with Orange” draws on a range of sounds from 1970s Sierra Leone to 1980s UK punk through to the Soukous beats of the Congo.
“Brilliant – if you want a bit of early summer, then get this into your ear-holes!”
(Lauren Laverne, BBC 6Music)
“John Peel would play something like this on his programme and the world would suddenly seem a better place”
(Steve Lamacq, BBC 6Music)

boogie-woogie @ temperance | Mike Sanchez "RnB legend" | Temperance
Jul 4, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
Royal Leamington Spa
British singer and pianist Mike Sanchez is one of the most exciting and charismatic performers in the world of rhythm & blues and rock 'n' roll. His indelible image as a frenetic front man, pumping powerful boogie-woogie from the piano in a soaking suit, has won him fans from all over the world and attracted a following from many famous rock and blues legends who have lined up to work with him.
Mike Sanchez was born in London to Spanish parents in 1964. At the age of eleven, his family moved to Worcestershire in the West Midlands where Mike took up the piano, developing a strong love for 1950s' American roots music through his high school years. As a teenager he taught himself guitar and formed The Rockets, a rockabilly trio.
Shortly after, Mike was introduced to former Chicken Shack, Savoy Brown and Steve Gibbons' multi-instrumentalist Andy Silvester by Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant, which led to the founding of the Big Town Playboys in 1984, specialising in authentic post-war Rhythm & Blues.
Procol Harum pianist Gary Brooker became an early fan and introduced Mike to his friends Eric Clapton and Amen Corner's Andy Fairweather-Low. The latter signed up as guitarist with the Big Town Playboys for two years in the 1990s. Fleetwood Mac's Mick Fleetwood is another good friend who has regularly involved Mike in his plans wherever possible.
The Big Town Playboys had various stints opening for Eric Clapton at London's Royal Albert Hall and appeared at many European music festivals, backing bluesmen like Lowell Fulson, Don & Dewey, Lonnie Brooks, Joe Hughes, Jimmy Nelson, Carey Bell and many more shows with pianist Little Willie Littlefield who became a big influence on Mike..
Mike recorded several albums with The Big Town Playboys between 1985 and 1998 including the classic Gene Vincent/Cliff Gallup tribute album 'Crazy Legs' with guitar-legend Jeff Beck in 1993.
In 2000 Mike went solo and began several touring and recording projects involving different UK line-ups, though the following year he was invited to spend four years as a full-time member of Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings, fronting the band alongside Georgie Fame, Beverly Skeete, Albert Lee, Andy Fairweather-Low and Eddie Floyd on their annual tours across Europe. The Rhythm Kings released their album ‘Just for a Thrill’ and a DVD entitled ‘Let the Good Times Roll’, both featuring Mike’s extensive role as a member of the ex-Rolling Stones bassist’s touring band.
In 2003 Mike released a debut 2-hour DVD titled 'Red Hot …Live!' featuring live shows of his 4 and 7-piece band and The Mike Sanchez Rhythm & Blues Revue, a Johnny Otis 1950s style show starring doo-wop vocal trio The Extraordinaires and Dublin vocalist Imelda May who shortly thereafter became a household name.
In December 2007 Mike was invited to appear as a guest vocalist with Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings at one of the most publicised musical events of the decade - the Led Zeppelin reunion at London's O2 Arena, a tribute to the memory of the late Ahmet Ertegun, founder of Atlantic Records. Mike performed alongside such soul legends as Solomon Burke, Ben E King, Percy Sledge and Sam Moore.
Another highlight during that period was Mike alongside Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Albert Lee and Dave Gilmour performing Elvis songs with his original guitarist Scotty Moore, filmed live at Abbey Road Studio, London for a DVD titled A Tribute To The King by Scotty Moore & Friends.

Introduction to NLP Day | Woodland Grange Conference Centre & Hotel
Jul 9, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED

Tools, ideas and insights to help you and your team...
Get where you want to be in your organisation and your career or business
Gain confidence that you can be or do or have what you want
Take charge of your life, your career and any situation
Have more rewarding relationships
Get the success you deserve
Why learn NLP, Neuroscience or any form of Psychology?
Like it or not, your success in business is heavily dependent on your ability to interact successfully with other people. The nature of the interaction is obviously specific to your particular role and profession, but if you can’t get what you want from other people, you’re always going to struggle to get ahead.
Fortunately, human beings are creatures of habit. What may appear mystifying in other people’s behaviour, reactions and responses does actually have a structure. Learning NLP, Neuroscience or any other form of Psychology gives you insights into that structure so you can make better sense of other people and make better decisions of how to handle your relationships with them.
At Brilliant Minds, we specialise in practical applications of Psychology that make your working day easier, reduce the frustrations caused by other people and free up your mental energy to focus on the priorities.
If this appeals to you…
Join us for our ‘Taster Day’ on NLP, Neuroscience and the Psychology of Brilliant Business. It’s designed to give you an overview of NLP and how it can usefully be applied in business. We’ve also included some Neuroscience because advances in Neuroscience are shedding new light on NLP and actually providing scientific evidence for elements of NLP that had previously only been experientially verified. How NLP meets your business needs
✔ Refines your self-management skills
As organisation structures get flatter and more 'matrixed', managers have more people to deal with and hence less time for each one. Common working practices mean that many people work from home or as part of a virtual team. The amount of time spent face-to-face with colleagues and the amount of input from managers reduces more and more. To perform effectively every person must be self-managing to some extent.
NLP techniques and principles can support activities such as goal-setting, self-motivation, overcoming nervousness before an important event, conquering mental blocks, improving decision-making techniques and managing self-development. I can even show you how to get past your dislike of conference calls, your fear of flying or the effects of your colleagues' irritating habits!
✔ Makes your communication count
Communication is probably the biggest challenge in any organisation, and the larger it is, the more of a challenge communications become. In the face of increasingly complex company structures, reliance on technology and the amount of time people spend working from home, effective communication is getting harder, and yet is also more important than ever. The pressure is on - to make face-to-face time count and get results from every interaction.
NLP can be applied to work out effective communication strategies for different individuals and groups. By using NLP models and questioning systems we can find out a lot about how others construct their perception of the world and how best to structure communications to achieve the desired goal. I promise you'll never be lost for words again and when you need to phrase something carefully, you'll have a framework to achieve the desired effect.
✔ Accelerates your learning and development
The pace of life and business is relentless. In the race for market share, most companies have to be highly flexible and adaptable in order to succeed. This means that the workforce must be highly flexible and adaptable too. They need to be able to rise above the pressure and chaos to learn new skills efficiently, manage change enthusiastically and constantly seek out new sources of competitive advantage.
Much of NLP was developed through techniques of modelling, which involves exploring the internal and external processes associated with excellent performance and teaching them to others.
Modelling can be used effectively by organisations to replicate the excellence of certain individuals. For example, wouldn't it be useful to know the real skills difference between your company's top salesperson and the rest? Similarly, for individuals, NLP can help you to develop a reliable strategy for your own learning and how to model skills from colleagues, specialists or even public figures.
Any other training you undertake after learning NLP will be so much easier. You'll know how to use the new material for yourself and you'll have quick ways of adopting new approaches.
✔ Resolves your past negative experiences
There are an increasing number of people who have experienced redundancy, a takeover, relocation, a merger or some kind of violence or harassment at work. Even the best organisations do not always succeed in helping people come through these experiences with a positive attitude. At worst, a whole organisation may end up demoralised and unproductive through a badly managed merger or change programme. Reluctant though you or I may be to admit it, many of us carry these bad experiences with us through life - hindering us from achieving our full potential.
NLP offers some of the best and quickest techniques for acknowledging the personal significance of these experiences and shaking off the resulting mistrust of employers, anger and distress, low morale, lack of motivation and loss of self-worth. Having moved through the negative effects of the events, you are then free to consider the value of what you have learned and to apply it constructively in the future.
Overall, NLP offers a structured, systematic approach and reliable, effective techniques for dealing with the most challenging aspects of managing people - and 'people' includes you!!!!
How will you benefit?
Open your eyes
to the hitherto invisible patterns in other people’s behaviour
New insight into what makes you tick
and how to get more of it
Tools and techniques you can use to influence
, impact and succeed
Wider perspective on everyday issues
through discussion with other participants
Clear understanding of how to develop your skills
in this arena

Learn about chocolate in a fun, age-appropriate way
Create thier own packaging to take thier chocolate home (if it lasts that long)
