The Nujiang Grand Canyon is located in Nujiang Prefecture in the northwest of Yunnan, running from south to north. It is a continuation of the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon to the southeast, and another geographical wonder in Yunnan! Liu Ku Town is the first stop on the way north up the Nu River, a necessary pass to Laomudeng and Bingzhongluo, and also an important part of Lushui City. The name 'Liu Ku' comes from a local waterfall cave by the Nu River, commonly known as the Dragon Cave. In the Lisu language, 'dragon' is called 'Lu' and 'cave' is called 'Ku', hence the name 'Liu Ku' is derived from the phonetic transformation of 'Lu Ku'. Liu Ku was once the capital of the Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture, known as 'the first town of the Nu River'.
