Yoyogi National Gymnasium

I came to this Daidaimu National Comprehensive Stadium with friends to see a particularly wonderful tennis match. Although this stadium is not particularly large, it is a very well-known stadium in the local area. The game is very exciting.

Built for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, the stadium was blended with modernism and Japanese architecture by Tange, who also cleverly designed the Hiroshima Peace Memorial and Tokyo Metropolitan Hall, a milestone in Shinjuku. Its flow patterns give an illusion of decorating the sky with tapestries. The architects are campaigning for the designation of NYS as a UNESCO cultural heritage effort.

A famous work by Japanese architect Dan Shimoto, including a swimming pool and a ball pavilion, was completed in 1964 and was built for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. Both sports buildings are suspended, the plane of the swimming pool is like two misaligned crescent shapes, and the plane of the ball pavilion is like a snail. The new structure of the Daidai Wood Stadium is widely praised for its unique style in Japan. It will also be the hand stadium for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the wheelchair rugby venue for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.

You have to be careful at the nearest station. The seats are narrow. The slope when going up to the stand is sober and hard. It is faster to go to the toilet from the stairs in the center of the stand.

The Daidaimu Stadium is on the edge of the Meiji Shrine, and the building has too many characteristics. It is said that some new work will be carried out here during the Tokyo Olympics. The current stadium is mainly based on arc buildings, but Japan attaches great importance to sports, and you can see a lot of various competitions at the door.
