Ancient City Tibetan Scripture Hall

The Zhongdian Bookstore is a two-story cultural relic building. Built in 1936. Downstairs is the Dharma Hall, where the monks preach the scriptures. On the second floor is the Jade Buddha Hall, with 28 Burmese Jade Buddhas and tens of thousands of volumes of Chinese and foreign Buddhist scriptures. Among them, the more precious ones include the Song Dynasty "Moraine Sand Book", the Ming Dynasty "Tripitaka", "Buddha's Amitabha Sutra", "The Lotus Sutra of Wonderful Law", "Japan Tripitaka", etc., as well as the bronze Buddha of the Tang Dynasty, the bronze pagoda of the Song Dynasty, The image of Guanyin Bodhisattva giving nectar in the Ming Dynasty, and the calligraphy of the eminent monk Dade. In 1924, Nanputuo Temple was changed from Linji Zong to monks to the ten-party jungle selection system. Inside the temple is the Minnan Buddhist Academy, which was founded in 1925 and is an earlier Buddhist institution in China. In 1934, Master Hongyi established another Buddhist Yangzheng Institute, ushering in a very prosperous period since the establishment of Nanputuo Temple. In 1937, the Buddhist Academy was closed due to the Anti-Japanese War. For more than ten years, the Buddhist Academy has trained more than 200 students, many of whom have made great contributions to the Buddhist cause in Southeast Asian countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines. In 1985, the Buddhist Academy was re-opened and now has a two-year school, a main school, a preparatory course, and a main course.
