Haimen Tianxian

Haimen Tianjian was built to prevent the invasion of the British during the Sino-British Opium War in 1840. After it was destroyed in the Sino-French War in 1884, it was rebuilt by Liu Mingchuan (the first governor of Taiwan). Another name for "Ershawan Fort". Haimen natural danger is adapted to local conditions. The east and north forts guard the outer sea and the inner sea gate respectively. They are built on the higher sea-facing hills, and the lower part is the camp area on the back of the sea. Cannons, ammunition depots, etc. can be seen in the fort area; while in the camp area, there are several sections of walls and the camp gate with the four characters "Haimen Tianxian" inscribed.
