Hong Kong Science Museum 📌✨Great place to take the kids for a day. Lots of interactive things to do and there is a dedicated kids play area in the top floor. 👀 There are four floors of exhibition halls. This place are rich with scientific knowledge. The place is big, clean and beautiful. The permanent exhibition hall allows children to learn about natural science. There will be themed exhibitions from time to time, such as dinosaur exhibition and Pixar exhibition. Eight historic extinct dinosaurs are assembled in the exhibition hall, which is both ornamental and educational. ✨ The admission fee is 20 yuan for adults and 10 yuan for children and seniors. Just be aware that there are no restaurants in the museum and no eating or drinking is allowed. Hongkong Science MuseumThe Hong Kong Science Museum is a science museum in Tsim Sha Tsui East, Kowloon, Hong Kong, located next to the Hong Kong Museum of History. The Hong Kong Science Museum was first conceived by the Urban Council in 1976.The council hired American firm E. Verner Johnson and Associates in 1984 to help plan the museum.Three more design firms were later engaged to work on the exhibits: West Office Design, Toshihiko Sakow Associates, and Levy Design. In 1986, the council hired Hong Kong architecture firm Palmer and Turner to design the museum. It was built by Leighton Contractors (Asia) Limited. Construction began in March 1988 and was completed in November 1990.The museum cost HK$340 million. It was officially opened by Governor David Wilson on 18 April 1991. Discover the Mistery of Science at HK Science MuseumHong Kong Science Museum which established in April 1991, is located at 2 Science Museum Road, Tsim Sha Tsui East, Kowloon. It is accessible by walking from Hung Hom via the pedestrian bridge. The display in the courtyard is one of the interesting parts, it changes depending on the exhibition is holding by the museum. It is now displaying the Big Eight - Dinosaur Revelation until Nov 16, 2022. Science Museum is open from 10 am to 7 pm on weekdays and until 9 pm on weekends & holidays. Closed on Thursdays (except public holidays) and the first two days of the Chinese New Year, and at 5 pm on Christmas Eve and Lunar New Year's Eve The admission fee is HKD20 for the Permanent Exhibition Hall and another addition for the special exhibition. Peak time is during the school holiday when many kids are coming with their parents. There are many things to explore and enjoy. Visiting Betsy in Hong Kong - DC-3The actual reason of me visiting the Hong Kong science museum is this beautiful Douglas DC-3 named Betsy. It was donated to the museum by Cathay Pacific. Yes, hands down it is the most ICONIC exhibit of the Hong Kong science museum! Ok, a bit more about Betsy: This Douglas DC-3 was Cathay Pacific's first ever airplane. It was purchased in 1946 after the Second World War by the founders of Cathay Pacific. Aftert a very long time of storage, the aircraft was restored in Australia, and in 2017 She arrived back in Hong Kong all under its power 😍 Then it was donated to the museum where everyone can see it. Desides this aircraft, there are also other aviation related exhibits. Visiting HK Science MuseumThe Hong Kong Science Museum is located in Tsim Sha Tsui East, Kowloon, Hong Kong, next to the Hong Kong Museum of History. A very interesting museum for age! A lot of people visiting the museum every day with family, kids or just solo like me 😁 To get there you need to take the MTR and get to Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station. Get out of the station - Exit B2 and then just go straight. If you are in Hong Kong and have time and will to visit a museum then I think this one is a very good option I’ll rate it 20 out of 10 😁 I’ll tell you way in my next post 😉 Opening Hours Monday to Wednesday, Friday 10am - 6pm. The price to get in isn’t expensive. There is lots to see and worth paying the little extra for the Winter Olympics Exhibition, that is great fun for both children and adults. The big energy exhibition which runs on the top floor every now and again throughout the day was fascinating. We had good fun with the mirrors. The Museum is next to the History Museum. Its a place for all ages. During a public holiday its a long queue but worth it. I never been on these kind of place especially museum tour. Its really great adventure.

The Hong Kong Science Museum's permanent exhibition has about 500 exhibits, spread across 16 exhibition areas, covering a wide range of subjects including light, sound, mechanics, magnetism and electricity, mathematics, life sciences, computers, transport, communications, food science, energy, occupational safety and health and home technology. About 70% of the exhibits of the Hong Kong Science Museum can be operated by the audience and participated in learning.
