古雒城遗址是汉代遗存，蒙古军入蜀时遭破坏，明代重修。三国时刘备攻打雒城时，守军将领张任与诸将在落凤坡射死刘备的军师庞统；后诸葛亮设计擒张任，刘备劝降，张任誓死不从，被杀。进入城门，右手边有一组人物雕塑，讲的就是刘备劝降张任的故事。雒城遗址城门楼是房湖公园的正门，公园内碧波湖水，绿树成荫，文物古迹众多，是一座环境优美，内容丰富的园林。
