A film about Altay has presented the long-silent magnificent beauty to the people of China, igniting countless dreams of Altay. But where I find peace, isn't that Altay everywhere? Due to various unexpected events, I stayed in Danba County for two days during my trip to Western Sichuan. This county town, built between the valleys and cliffs, especially the watchtower Tibetan villages amidst the high mountains and sea of clouds, gave us an immense shock. When the sudden highland rain stopped just before sunrise, and the sunlight filtered through the clouds sprinkled over the beautiful mountains shrouded in mist, the villagers in the mountain hollows were working in the crisp vegetation-covered wilds, and occasionally the calls of unidentified mountain birds came from the treetops outside the window. Being there truly made us linger and unable to leave. Jiaju Tibetan Village is 10 kilometers away from Danba County town. It is said that 'Jiaju' originally means 'a hundred households'. However, from what we saw along the way in the car and from the drone's perspective, it feels like there might be more than a hundred households here. All these tower-style buildings are built on high mountain cliffs, whether looking up from the bottom of the mountain or looking down from the summit, they inspire awe. 🗺️ Travel Tips: 🎫 Ticket: 40 yuan, but when we were there, we took a local Tibetan yellow car, and the driver was very enthusiastic, taking us directly from the county town into the Tibetan village. 🚶 Sightseeing: The village mainly has 3 viewing platforms, from low to high they are 1, 2, and 3. The Tibetan brother directly took us to the highest viewing platform 3, from where we played all the way down. You can take the main road for sightseeing or take the stone steps into the Tibetan village area, but these watchtower villages are either homestays or inhabited by local villagers. Homestays generally refuse visitors and some local Tibetans charge 5 yuan for entry. Of course, as long as you don't enter the tower gates, they won't mind. 🛏️ Accommodation: There are many homestays in the village, and the off-season prices are not expensive, you can pick a nice place to stay for 200-500. Outside the village, there are tower homestays which are relatively cheaper. We stayed outside the village for 200+, but there was no bottled water or disposable slippers in the room, so I won't recommend it here. There are few choices for restaurants on the mountain, and it's more convenient in the county town. Other: There are water and snacks for sale in the scenic area, slightly more expensive but within an acceptable range. Near the 2nd viewing platform, I encountered a cousin's coffee shop. The cousin from Guangxi drives along the 318, selling coffee and having fun along the way. He said he would sell until before the National Day and then go somewhere else. The coffee is priced high but you can bargain haha, the cousin is a good person 🚗 Transportation: Drive from Chengdu along the Western Sichuan loop, Danba County is a must-pass and is usually set as the first day's stop. If not driving yourself, there are buses from Chengdu to Danba County, three times a day, a 6-hour journey costing 168. You can take a chartered car in the county town to visit places like Tagong Grassland and Yala surrounded by clouds. However, self-driving or chartering a car from Chengdu is still recommended.

In Sichuan, there are many Tibetan villages of different types, and I think Jiaju Tibetan Village is the most beautiful one. This Jiaju Tibetan Village located in Danba County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan is now also a very famous tourist spot and is a national 4A scenic tourist area. The characteristic of Jiaju Tibetan Village is that many Tibetan villages follow the undulating terrain, standing on the high ground to see a Tibetan-style building located in the green trees, scattered on the hillside, every once in a while a group of Tibetan villages are concentrated. When we went, we just encountered a thin mist on the mountain, and the Tibetan villages appeared in the mist, like beautiful and hazy paintings! To go to Jiaju Tibetan Village, you need to buy a ticket, 50 yuan per person. After buying a ticket, you can drive your own car to each viewing platform to watch.

The sky is vast and bright, the meadows are lush with cattle and sheep 🐏, the snow-capped mountains ❄ are undulating, and the primeval forests are lightly shrouded in mist. The beautiful Jiaju Tibetan Village by the Dajin River in Danba County is a fairytale world hidden deep in the mountains, untouched by the mundane, moving people deeply. For thousands of years, it has quietly hidden in the Hengduan Mountains, far from the hustle and bustle, letting time flow by, yet always preserving its primitiveness and mystery. Jiaju Tibetan Village has been rated as the "Most Beautiful Village Ancient Town in China" by China National Geographic Magazine. It is a little-known paradise hidden in the Hengduan Mountains, with magnificent and charming scenery, primitive and mysterious beauties, tranquil and poetic rural dwellings, and unique ancient stone watchtowers, showcasing its magic and beauty. March in Western Sichuan, I recommend everyone not to miss the pear blossoms in Jinchuan, a 3-day trip is feasible. Itinerary Day 1: Chengdu - Danba - Zhonglu Tibetan Village (recommended to stay inside the village) Day 2: Zhonglu Tibetan Village - Jiaju Tibetan Village - Jinchuan (stay in Jinchuan, the whole journey is filled with pear blossoms) Day 3: Jinchuan - Ma'erkang - Chengdu Attractions Zhonglu Tibetan Village: Located in Niexia Township, Danba County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, it's less famous than Jiaju but I find it more pristine. The village is full of Tibetan friends who are very friendly and will greet you actively. You can drive into the village, but be careful as there are many bends. Pear blossoms, Tibetan villages, and highland barley fields are all super photogenic, waiting for a sunrise🌅sunset🌄 Jinchuan Pear Blossoms: The blooming period is from mid-March to the end of March, lasting just half a month. From Zhonglu Tibetan Village to Jinchuan, you will see pear blossoms in the river valley along the way. Of course, the most famous spot is in Jinchuan's 'Fairy Pack' (as shown in picture two). You must get there early in the morning, drive up, and there's a special viewing platform. Wait for the sun to rise, and capture it along with the smoke from the local Tibetans' fires, it's absolutely fantastic! Notes Hotels: In Zhonglu Tibetan Village, homestays are the main accommodations with varying prices. Everyone can choose according to their preferences. Hotels in Jinchuan are more expensive, so book in advance. Altitude: There are no places along the entire route that cause altitude sickness discomfort, with the highest altitude being around 2200 meters. Altitude sickness usually occurs above 3000 meters. Clothing: Remember, friends, when traveling to Western Sichuan, no matter what month you go, definitely bring a down jacket. The weather in Western Sichuan changes a lot, and the temperature difference between morning and evening is significant. Bringing it is the right choice. For those who like to take photos, bring your beautiful dresses. Road conditions for self-driving: The entire route is in good condition, even for sedans, with mostly highways➕asphalt roads. 🌲This National Day, we came to western Sichuan, setting off two days in advance, and there was no traffic jam at all! The next day we arrived in Danba County, wanting to see the characteristic Tibetan villages. ✨Danba has three well-known Tibetan villages, namely Jiaju, Zhonglu, and Suopo, with Jiaju being the most famous. The accommodation ticket is 💰40 yuan. If you don't stay overnight, it's 💰50 yuan. 🏨This time we stayed at a homestay in Jiaju Tibetan Village called Danba Starry Sky Photography Homestay. The conditions of the homestay are okay, the view from the third floor is quite good, and there is a 360-degree viewing platform on the top floor. The altitude here is not high, we didn't feel any altitude sickness at all, and we slept very soundly. 🏔️Opening the door in the morning is the spectacular panoramic view of the Tibetan village, which is really super worth it! At first, the weather was a bit cloudy, 🌞fortunately it gradually cleared up! After breakfast, we went to a homestay called Half Mountain near the No. 3 viewing platform of Jiaju Tibetan Village to take pictures in Tibetan costumes. We took pictures for more than an hour, 🤩it really felt amazing!

We were a group of 16 people, who set off from Chengdu on July 9, 23 years ago. We wanted to share our travel guide with everyone at the end of the trip, so that more friends who love nature like us can refer to it, but due to time constraints, we only write it now: Day 1: Chengdu to Danba County, stay in Danba, the altitude of Danba County is 1600 Day 2: Visit Jiaju Tibetan Village and Zhonglu Tibetan Village in Danba, see the ancient towers and Tibetan houses for a thousand years, stay in Danba; Day 3: Depart from Danba in the morning, pass through Yak Gully (also called China Panda Avenue) to Daofu, go along the valley, with cliffs and strange rocks on both sides, known as natural bonsai, the scenery is charming, after lunch in Bamei Town, continue to go, you can stay in Daofu Longdengba Grassland for 1 hour, see the grassland wildflowers, take children to ride horses, etc., stay in Daofu, the altitude of Daofu County is 3000 Day 4: Visit the Tibetan houses in Daofu in the morning, then go to the next stop, Ganzi County, along National Highway 3 1 7, pass through Kasai Lake in Luhuo County (right next to National Highway 317), on a sunny day, you can enjoy the view of Kasai Lake reflecting the blue sky at the foot of the mountain on the hillside full of wild flowers, stay in Ganzi County, the altitude of Ganzi County is 3390; Day 5: Depart from Ganzi County in the morning, go to Xinluhai at the foot of Queer Mountain, this lake is right next to National Highway 317, this is a glacial lake, formed by the melting of glaciers and snow on Queer Mountain, it is one of the sources of Coqu River, the lake water is clear and transparent, the key is that there are not many tourists, the scenic spot is currently free, the altitude of Xinluhai is 4040, we returned to Ganzi County for accommodation; Day 6: Depart from Ganzi County to Hongshan Scenic Area in Xinlong County, the unique plateau Danxia landform here is spectacular, the altitude of the scenic area is above 4200, pay attention to prevent altitude sickness, in the afternoon, go directly from the scenic area to Xinlong County, if the time is right, you can check in at Boriqiao, known as the first bridge in Kangba, stay in Xinlong County, the altitude of Xinlong County is 3066; Day 7: Depart from Xinlong in the morning to Coka Lake, this lake is named after Coka Temple by the lake, the lake is not big, but the lake water is crystal clear like jade, the temple by the lake is mainly in bright red and yellow, and the blue sky, white clouds, green trees, and green mountains are reflected in the lake, it is beautiful, like a fairyland on earth, there are groups of fish swimming in the quiet lake, in the afternoon, go from Coka Lake to Yajiang via Litang, stay in Yajiang, the altitude of Yajiang County is 2700; Day 8: Depart from Yajiang in the morning, go along National Highway 318 to Guogangding in Yajiang, Guogangding is a mountain named after a flower, because the mountain top is full of a kind of yellow Guogang flower every summer, the mountain top of more than 3000 square meters is full of fresh flowers, and there are two small lakes of the sun and the moon, which are mutually reflecting, the mountain top with abundant grass, horses and cattle are leisurely eating grass, the ancient site of the White Wolf Kingdom adds a historical mark to the mountain top, being in it, you also become a part of the scenery, especially like this pure natural scenery, the uploaded photos are all taken here, the scenic spot is currently under development, the road has been repaired, there is a parking lot, no tickets are required, you need to bring your own dry food, return to Yajiang in the afternoon, stay in Yajiang County; Day 9: Go to Pamuling in Yajiang in the morning, there is a large-scale Pamuling Temple on the top of the mountain, you can also go around the mountain to watch birds, it is known as a bird watching paradise, stay in Yajiang County; Day 10, Depart from Yajiang in the morning to Xinduqiao, in order to see the scenery along the way, we chose to go to Kangding along Provincial Highway 4 3 4, from Kangding to Chengdu on the Yaye Expressway, the trip ends.

The must-visit in autumn in Western Sichuan--Danba Tibetan Village. 👐This is the Valley of Beauty, the Country of Thousand Towers, the Site of Dongnu Kingdom, this is Danba. In Siguniang Mountain, I appreciated the majesty of the mountains and rivers; in Jiaju Tibetan Village, I felt the unique charm of Tibetan culture; in Yala Snow Mountain and Xindu Bridge, I felt like I was in heaven; in Moshishan Park and Tagong Grassland, I was shocked by the magic and wonder of nature. The whole journey was fruitful and worthwhile.
