Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary
#indonesiatrip We spent a few hours here in the afternoon and it was stunning!
As the title depicts, it is a forest setting with free roaming monkeys! It's is incredible and I am so glad we went!
Admission is really reasonable, and the money assists the upkeep and running of the reserve.
The monkeys are adorable and cheeky. They aren't phased by the number of people around but give them their space also. However if you have food or drink, they will come and assume it is for them. Best leave those snacks at home or in a bag.
There are also many sacred sites around the lot, many of them containing temple scriptures which are stunning, but off limits to those who are not there for prayer.
If you are in the area, be sure to stop in!
It's not really a forest per se, more like a tropical park with a temple within and monkeys roaming around. The temple is small but interesting whereas one needs to be careful with the monkeys as they can be quite aggressive. The whole trip takes about an hour and is a bit pricey by Indonesian standards.
I thought it was not big, and I could walk around for more than an hour. There are quite a lot of monkeys and quite well-behaved. The keepers gave them sweet potatoes and corn. Can't feed, the leftover bread they snatched in the morning, scared. Children like to see animals.

Very good experience, children like it, the place is very big and not finished, don't wear things that are easy to be robbed
The lady is hot, the monkey is still cute
