Highlights: Founded in the Tang Dynasty, Anren Ancient Town is a sleepy little slice of history. Some of the sites to visit include the well-preserved Liu Family Manor, the large Folk Museum, Red Star Street, Shuren Street, and Yumin Street. There are nearly a dozen Republican-era mansions scattered throughout the town. There are several good restaurants in town and it's challenging to choose only one. Nearly every single restaurant has their own take on locally famous dishes such as Maoxuewang (duck's blood and beef tripe in a spicy soup), Landlord's spare ribs, carp, and soft tofu. If you have the time, make sure to try them all!
