Premier Inn Dubai Barsha Heights

Barsha Heights
I've been in the hotel now for over 24days and mostly enjoyed my stay as the the hotel is clean, the bed is good, it smells fresh and the ambience is suitable for the price of UNDER Dh180 per night for this location. It's a really good short stay hotel but Safety is an issue and largely due to their neighbourhood. I think that most of their hotel staff is good but watch out for sexism. They also need more training to respect consumer rights. Also they have an issue with 'holding structure' wrt their insurance. It's now 2nd Oct 2022, so if you read this a few years later, this cld be a totally different hotel. - Barsha Heights is an urban neighbourhood in transition. Not suitable for those a bit conservative as I am. I seriously question the safety- marketing match for this property and would not deem it suitable for families with small kids. 1) the bathrooms aren't kid-friendly and easily over-splash. I changed to a room with a bath tub but the tub sides are too high and it's a safety hazard. - aesthetics is good but Design is not their strong feature. -The housekeeping staff does a really good job to wipe down the floors. These guys are good. Their senior management is also pretty good. Their overall staff in general is too inexperienced for Dubai standard. 2) the floor landings aren't well marked and some kid got off on the wrong floor and got scared and confused. I got him off on the right floor. I saw him later with his parents. - most guests here are friendly and look out for one another. Another guest looked out for me too. It's a friendly and trustworthy space between most guests. 3) they don't put up signs that contractor work is happening. Can do better. 4) The front desk and F&B do seem to take the mickey out of solo female travellers, so be straight up on what you expect. - Push back and know your legal rights. It's likely a cultural thing. Seen it here before decades ago too. It was wiped out then but clearly it's resurfaced. So do what you can or move to Abu Dubai or Sharjah. 5) excellent food deals! Heart of the hotel! The food is quite good for the price. Not too oily, good selection. The breakfast per the entire week was dh200+ and comes with fresh omelletes, Asian, Indian and European as well as fresh fruit. They improved the coffee. Really good deal! Clean cafe since it's new. The pub also has a good meal deals under Dh100 this Sept 2022. They change in October. Ask and know your consumer rights before ordering. But like a few other Dubai restaurants, the plates and glasses smell of stale dish washer. They fixed it immediately so that's good. But no one else complained and that was surprising to me. Potent cocktails. Good bar tender from Morocco and another from Philippines called Joseph. 6) don't stand outside to look for a cab. The Security came to get me a cab. It's safer. Really good hotel for under Dh180 but the neighbourhood sets them back a bit. I've been here a while and thank the staff for a pleasant stay!

Bur Dubai
Highly recommend this place for any person. They got everything you need covered. The staff is very friendly and very kind. If you need any advice about places to visit or things to do while you are there, ask from Mahesh (a guy works there). He'll be very informative and specific about the places according to the time you have. Another perk is that the hotel is closer to a metro station and also surrounded by the Dubai creek. As this place is situated somewhere like the middle of Dubai, it is very easy to access anywhere you need. Rooms are clean and neat. Can easily accessible through lifts and NFC system. Do also have the mini bar option and dine in from room option. Food is also nice and tasty.

Deira
The worst part of staying in the hotel was nighttime, there are a couple of clubs in the building and the music is aggressively loud till 4 am. Sleeping on the first floor is almost impossible. I don't know about other floors. When checking in it turned out that the hotel is fully booked, so I was given a suite that I enjoyed a lot. I would give it 10/10 for the money spent, but that's only in my case. The cleaning staff is doing a good job, but they didn't supply some stuff like shampoo and after one day they started to bring only one towel. Additionally, they didn't change my glasses, so I washed them myself. Overall 6/10.

Flawless stay. Great value for money in Dubai. Room was clean and good sized. Location is a short 5 minute walk from the metro station. But the best part of the stay was the friendly and very helpful staff especially Lee at the front desk. Highly recommended.

Deira
The staff was super friendly and helpful and the Hotel's location was perfect; opposite the Gold Souk Metro Station. Very clean, and the breakfast a great spread. Hospitality was more than what we expected, especially there was a boy called Zin who went out of his way to take care of us. I would highly reccommend this hotel...

Bur Dubai
It’s a good budget apartment hotel that you would get with all the good amenities of a 3-4 star hotel. Location is great, close to burjuman mall 15-30 mins by walk, 25 minutes to airport drive. Old souq, meena bazar pretty near. With 24*7 supermarkets and restaurants 2-5 minutes proximity by walk. Breakfast at restaurant is good with continental, Indian and Arabic offerings.

It’s always a good time coming back here. The location is absolutely perfect right next to financial center metro station and some good restaurants nearby. It has to work more on cleanliness and on providing quicker service. Overall it’s a comfortable place.

Al Barsha
Our stay at the Ibis was fine. This is our 130th hotel stay this year and among our least favorite experiences. First, it is very clean, so don’t worry about that. But a clean bed and room is all you can expect. Things we didn’t enjoy: -Breakfast is a chaotic cluster. No staff were seating guests. People were sprawled out across the Ibis and adjoining Novotel. It is difficult to find staff to clean off a table or provide new cutlery. The food is fine, but the coffee is horrible. - We were told the room included tea and coffee. When we checked in we notified the front desk we had no coffee and would like some. They told us someone would bring it, but it never arrived. The same thing happened the second day. The third day we asked cleaning staff if they have coffee. They told us they were out and only had decaf. They did provide decaf, but regular coffee should have been available. -The shower is extremely slippery. The shower drain is raised to prevent hair and product from clogging it. But that means people are standing in .5” of water the entire time they are showering. The smooth tiles are extremely slippery when covered in standing water. I’m a 36 year old agile, athletic person. I fell, hitting my knee and face on the tile. There are no grippy mats to reduce slipping. There are no handles to get up from in the shower. - After falling, I asked for a hand towel to wash my face. I was told “we don’t offer hand towels on THIS SIDE of the hotel. Only the Novotel side gets hand towels.” It’s very weird to make people feel lesser than others over hand towels. 🤷♀️ Other small weird stuff: - There are ZERO outlets by the bed. You have to charge all electronics, including your phone, across the room. - The faucet barely hangs over the sink. When you wash your hands, they are against the side of the bowl, and water will run out on the counter. It’s like the designer never used the sink. - They have chosen a strange press soap bottle. It breaks off from the wall daily. -Aside from soap, no basic toiletries are provided. (no shampoo, conditioner, or lotion.) Overall, this place is cheaper than others, but it still costs too much to have this many issues.

Deira
The room was clean, no smell. The air conditioner was cold. The bathroom is clean and there is always hot water. The hotel is very close to Exit B of the Union subway station. After crossing the overpass, it takes about 5 minutes to walk. There is a big shopping mall next to it. It is more convenient to eat. To the airport, you can take the C01 bus at any time, 3 dirhams, you can go to the airport Go to the Deira business district and walk for 1 to 2 kilometers, which can basically cover all of it. Because Union is a two-line subway entrance, it is also easy to go to dubai mall
