Popularity is not bad, the level of the boss is also great.

We breakfast here a lot when staying at the hotel, and usually go down for a nightcap or cuppa as well. The breakfast chef is amazing, she looks after our little coeliac wonderfully, and nothing is too much trouble. I haven't eaten in during evening for some time now, but Rise breakfast is always fantastic, lots of it, great range and cheap for guests. Love it.

My husband & I have enjoyed coming coming to the Southbank Grill over the years for our date nights but unfortunately last night will be our last time. The restaurant has lost that special something and while my steak ($41 cheapest) was nicely cooked everything else was very disappointing. The menu was very simple with absorbent prices, the paint was peeling off the wall where I was seated and we had to pull the table out so my chair could fit. The staff where talking very loudly discussing the breakfast set up in the morning, ordering of stock and even discussing our wine and who put it on the bill. Just not the same!

Expectations definitely weren't met here. Overpriced menu, bland food, minimal menu options and hardly a grill as described in its name. I'm surprised Rydges are even affiliated with or allow this restaurant to service their guests. Front of house staff were friendly and very professional, same can't be said for the kitchen staff.
