The Palace of Parliament, also known as the People's Palace, was built in 1984 by the then Romanian leader Ceausescu, who was very concerned about the progress of the building. Romanians work day and night to build the People's Palace, which consumes enormous financial and human resources, making people complain constantly. When the Romanian Revolution broke out in 1989, 70% of the people's palace was planned to be built. After that, construction was interrupted and almost burned down by the angry people. After several times of construction, the People's Palace is now a modern building.
