Korankei

Korankei is located in Asuke Town, Okumikawa National Park, backed by Mount Iimori. It is situated at the intersection of the upper reaches of the Asuke River and the Yahagi River. It is said that the monk Sanei from Kojakuji Temple on Mount Iimori planted the first maple trees in 1634. By the end of the Taisho period, local residents had planted a large number of Japanese maples and large-leaved maples along the creek, creating the magnificent scenery we see today. In autumn, over 4,000 maple trees on the mountains gradually turn yellow, green, yellow, orange, and red, creating a landscape known as the 'Five-Colored Maples.' The reflections dye the surface of the Yahagi River red, adding to the beauty of the flowing water, making it the most beautiful autumn foliage scenery in the Tokai region.

This inconspicuous hotel's breakfast is the one I am most satisfied with!

⭐️ The most satisfying breakfast of this trip, we arrived at this hotel at around 8 PM, and unexpectedly, we could still have dinner. ⭐️ I ordered an eel rice bowl, which cost around 70 RMB. The eel was plump, and the sauce was rich. Maybe I was just hungry, but it tasted especially good. ⭐️ This place seems to be the hometown of a famous athlete. The restaurant is filled with sportswear, with resumes written in Japanese underneath. I can understand a bit of it. ⭐️ The hotel is very small and quite old, more like a small inn. However, it offered the most sumptuous breakfast I had during this trip to Japan. ⭐️ Fruits, fried items, milk, coffee, and most importantly, watermelon. Before coming here, someone said that watermelons in Japan are very expensive, but after coming here, it wasn't as scary as rumored. So, you have to experience it yourself. ⭐️ The rooms here are so small that two people can barely move around. ⭐️ This place seems to be mostly visited by tour groups. It's not very convenient for individual travelers. It should be considered the countryside of Japan.

Japan's Famous Maple Viewing Spot: Korankei

The most captivating period here is undoubtedly the autumn maple leaf season. The best time to view the maple leaves in Korankei is from mid to late November, when 4,000 deciduous plants turn a brilliant red. Walking along the stream, the mountainsides covered in red leaves surge like giant waves, showcasing both the delicate beauty of the maple leaves and the grandeur of the wild mountains. Coupled with the pure and graceful stream, it feels like a fairyland on earth, touching the heart. During the maple leaf season, a Maple Leaf Festival is also held here, with various temple performances and unique stalls adding more fun to your maple leaf viewing trip.

#thingstodo Wonderful place for families. There's a cooled indoor play gym, great for kids. There's a large outdoor covered area to setup a small tent and relax. A Starbucks a close by with a wonderful view. There's Forest Adventure Toyota to go zip lining. It was a nice surprise to encounter food trucks and locally created crafts for sale. My family and I spent a whole day here and had a terrific time

"OBARA" is a town which is famous for Shikizakura (四季桜 four-season cherry blossoms), It take about 2.30 hours from Nagoya. When you get off at Kaminigi , you have to walk about 10 minutes to reach the park. The landscape was so beautiful that you can't resist taking photos.

KAMINIGI, OBARA 🍂🍁✨ Kaminigi is very popular during Autumn. It is located in Obara, Toyota City. As a whole, Toyota is popular during Autumn and Kaminigi is one reason why. The autumn colors of Kaminigi is just gorgeous. It is also very much accessible by bus from Toyoto Station. Fare is only ¥600 one way. Was there last November 2019, and my timing was great because the autumn colors were already in full bloom. #wintergetaway

ENGLISH CAMP IN TOYOTA! ✨ I volunteered as one of the foreign participants of the Summer English Camp last 2018. It was a fun experience, staying with the kids for a weekend. My favorite part tho, was walking in the forest around the facility we were in. We found scenic views. Toyota City will always be that beautiful country neighborhood in Aichi. Korankei Valley 🍁🍂✨ If we talk about Autumn Foliage Hunting in Aichi, #japan, the best place to be would be Korankei Valley in Toyota. This place is by far the best Autumn Viewing I had. Senmi Shikizakura no Sato 🌸✨ Senmi Shikizakura no Sato is where you go if you would like to witness 1,200 Cherry Blossom trees in full bloom during Spring and Autumn. This heaven of colored-leaves is located in #obara. At first, I didn't believe that it is possible to see #cherryblossoms trees in Autumn, but hey, I actually saw them in Obara last November! 🌸 #japan #wintergetaway

Rurikozanyakushi Temple⛩✨ On top of all those beautiful Cherry Blossoms and Autumn Leaves around Obara, there is another bonus experience in store for you; the Rurikozanyakushi Temple. It is a Buddhist Temple that sits on top of Senmi Shikizakura no Sato. Getting to the temple might need a little endurance because it would require you to climb up a couple of stairs in order to reach it.
