The main exhibition area of ​​teamLab this time is divided into several zones. There are both the hotel building and the forest. I will gradually tell you about each part. Let's start with the journey. The closest major city that we can take a plane to is Fukuoka. From the big station, Hakata station, take the train to Takeo Onsen station. It takes 70 minutes, then take a bus or taxi for about 5-10 minutes to arrive at the hotel. For those who are not staying, you can buy tickets at the hotel for 1,200 yen. The first highlight on the hotel side is the lobby. ‘Forest and Spiral of Resonating Lamp’, a large lamp installation welcomes you from the first step. Mifuneyama Rakuen Hotel is home to Rakan no Yu, which has won the Grand Prix in the Sauna Cheran for three consecutive years. The hotel building itself is a little old, but it is kept clean, and the room was simple but comfortable. The collaboration with teamLab was unexpectedly fun. The experience started with checking in the lobby, where a fantastic space filled with many hanging lamps spreads out. You are immediately drawn into a surreal world. The presentation, which made use of the facilities in the hotel, such as the former large bath, was very ingenious. Of particular note was the projection mapping of Mt. If you've been to a teamlab exhibit, you know what to expect. What makes this one special is the location. The park is beautiful with different venues spread everywhere. Some pieces resemble others featured in different locations, e.g. the pound where the carps projections are feels like the one in teamlab Planets in Tsukiji, Tokyo. That said, the location itself gives a different vibe to the pieces. Wear comfortable shoes and be careful when walking around as the place can be quite dark in some places. There are 2 gates and one opens 1 hour later, at 20:00. I would suggest entering earlier so you don't have to rush to see everything.
