From here it is less than 10 minutes to the food court behind the fire station, less than 10 minutes from the lake park and zoo. Because it is located in a residential area, the surrounding area is not crowded. The room very simple but the view is very beautiful because of the hill view from far. This hotel has an indoor pool. Suitable for bathing children. Open from 8am to 7pm. Located on the second floor of this hotel. This hotel also has a small section for the history of Taiping town. There is a list of attractions that can be visited in Taiping. Love this restaurant that serve a lot of western food. There are two floors. A banqueting place is specially prepared on the upper floor which can accommodate approximately 20 adult family members. Usually this place is a hot spot for foodies and couples and families. Have a wide selection of local and western cuisine as well as a few choices of cakes. The lamb shank is good, nice marination. But they serve with a whole lot of mash potatoes underneath I do not know for what. We also ordered crazy chocolate milkshake, it is so nice and sweet. The toilet are clean, they even have Muslims prayer room. Now the trees have to be proped up to preserve it. ❤️It is a Good thing that cars are not allowed to drive through under the cars!!! There are many paths for walks, exercise and even bicycles for rent. There are cycle boats for rent to ride on the lake. ❤️This Garden has been well taken care of and lots of beautiful greeneries good for photos. I Saw White flamingos and you can White Dots on trees in the evening when the flamingos nested. Taiping Lake Gardens was the first public recreation park established in Malaysia and today it remains one of the most beautiful spots in the country. Magnificent rain trees, many over 100 years old, line the lake along Jalan Pekeling, with giant branches extending over the water and providing shade and a peaceful ambience for walkers. The gardens comprise West Lake, South Lake, Jungle Lake and a number of smaller lakes, ponds and islands linked by footpaths and decorative bridges. At night some of the bridges are colourfully illuminated. Antong Coffee Factory is the oldest coffee mill in Malaysia. The entrance was nicely decorated with a gigantic Antong coffee cup, old grandpa's bicycle, wall paintings and some tables. You can see some old trees next to a heritage yellow colour building. It has a showroom that features the history of the brand, process of making coffee beans, and also their products. Other than their signature charcoal roasted coffee, I recommend to buy the white coffee, very fragrant, rich and smooth to drink. If you like iced coffee, you can try their special latte in a bear bottle. Reasonable prices. The staff were informative and welcoming. Free entrance. Ample parkings. I've visited this zoo a few times already and it never seems to bore me and my kids. This time i can see they are doing a lot of maintenance work to improve visitors' experiences. So of course this is another reason for me to revisit this zoo in few more months. This zoo is pretty huge, so make sure that you wear proper clothes. There are kiosk that sell snack and drinks inside the zoo. There are also trams if you dont want to explore this zoo on foot. I forgot to take pictures at the ticket counter but the ticket price is very affordable. The price for me, husband and our two kids only cost us RM48. The parking space around this zoo is huge as this zoo located around Taman Tasik Taiping. After your visit to the zoo, you can just chill around the park while watching your kids play at the playground. I'm sure going to visit this zoo again in near future.

Taiping Mall is adjacent to Novotel Taiping Hotel. It is quieter than other shopping malls. There were some interesting shops selling toys, clothes, luggage, backpacks, and Chinese New Year hampers. A Cherry Bakery, a Marybrown fast food chain and Pacific Mall. Quite a good option to enjoy Aircon in hot weather. For kids, they may find it fun to be here because of the play areas and rides. This bakery is well-known for their freshly baked Kaya Kok (Kaya puffs). The skin was crispy with a generous amount of filling. So tasty! Other than that, they also sell Tao Sar Piah (Mung Bean Biscuits), Pandan Bean Paste Biscuits, Fried Fish Skin, Walnut cookies, and Siew Pao. You will be surprised by how the bakery looks like, it is hidden in a residential area, with windows opened for customers to place orders and a tiny signboard. People always say, if the food is good, no matter how far customers will come. One of the best free things to do is visiting parks. Spritzer is a well-known mineral water brand in Malaysia. The Eco Park is just next to their headquarters, very well maintained. There are 18-hole Mini Golf courses, cafe, rare rocks, tree tag walkabout, love locks corner, creative recycled bottles decorations and more. Please be aware of wild monkeys, they could be aggressive. There is a convenient stall selling drinks, snacks and souvenirs, must get a Spritzer drink if you happen to be there. Ample parking space. This place is so good, suitable together with friends or family.The air was very clear, they have a museum record the history of Spritzer. Obviously a place which attracts a lot of locals - the waters and the pool are attractive. And they are great fun for kids and teenagers to enjoy. constant running water, some pools to submerge in and on a warm day(or indeed any day) they will provide fun and enjoyment. Access could be made easier and it is a pity that the girder bridge which crosses the river is not more attractive. But worth a brief visit - unless you want to go splashing about with your kids. #MyTripVlog

The Perak Museum is a public museum located at the junction of Jalan Muzium and Jalan Taming Sari in Taiping, Perak, Malaysia. It is the oldest museum in Malaysia and highlights the history of the state. Very cheap entry with many informative display. Spacious, air conditioned and clean. Can spend a good hour (or more) learning. Love the animal display. I didn't expect a high standard for a small town like this. Hope more people will make it a point to visit so they can keep this going. There's some antique cars and boat display outside. There's a small children's playground that seemed decent (apart from the broken swing) No full stars rating because there was a children's corner but nothing was there. And there wasn't any soap in the ladies toilet. The toilet also has be flushed "creatively ". I don't know why this seem to be a common thing with Malaysian spots. The Christmas decorations here are so beautiful, especially the outdoor plastic transparent bubble tent. There were tiny Christmas trees and a bench inside, but due to the hot weather, we couldn't stay too long inside. I was thrilled to see the Santa Claus and reindeer carriage ride. Looks so real. This is my first time visiting a mushroom farm. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about planting mushrooms. She shared with us the whole process from preparation of soil until harvesting. There were so many types of mushrooms, even a pink oyster mushroom, "ling zhi' and rare tiger milk mushrooms. They also sell fresh and dried mushrooms and mushroom products. The ticket price was only RM3, inclusive of a guided tour and complimentary black fungus drink (so tasty). It's unbelievably cheap. Highly recommended. Please avoid visiting during lunch hours (12pm to 2pm). The front gate was closed and you may have to wait in the car under the hot sun. This is one of the oldest cendol stalls in Taiping. The menu is simple, they have normal Cendol, and Kacang (red bean), Jagung (corn), Pulut (glutinous rice), or a mixture of the ingredients. Prices range from RM2 to RM4.90. Really cheap. Great for hot weather. Their cendol was smooth and nice, not overly sweet. Must mix well before eating because the Gula Melaka Syrup is at the bottom. Service was fast, friendly owner. There is also a popular Pasembur stall next to it. Each plate only costs RM4, worth trying. It will compliment the sweet cendol. It was so nice to walk around Taiping Zoo. I like the African Savanna the most. Those Giraffes, Zebras, and Elephants were impressive. Upon entrance, I highly recommend to take the tram ride to go one round in the Zoo. This ride will cover all animals and almost all sections. Later, you may walk to the places you want to explore more. There are snacks and ice cream stalls in the Zoo. Must try the Cookies Ice Cream (RM8) and Jumbo Hotdog (RM4), delicious. For kids, there is a playground, even though a bit run down, but still ok and safe to play. If you like to see the animals at night, they have combo tickets for Night Safari, just add a few dollars only. Worth visiting. I like the buffet breakfast here, this is one of the best I have ever had in Malaysia. They serve a wide selection of dishes, both locals and western. All very delicious especially the Nasi Lemak, Roti Jala, Curry Chicken, Nasi Goreng Kampung, Chicken LoBak, Crispy Pan-fried Turkey Ham and Bread Pudding. The fruits were sweet and fresh, especially the pineapple. It's similar to the pineapple I had in Phuket before, super nice. Others are: the eggs station, the bread and pastries section, salad bar, cornflakes and cereals. Even though it was quite crowded, the service was fast. The staff were efficient and friendly. This is the best hotel in Taiping. Strategic location, just next to Taiping Mall, and within walking distance to Taiping Lake Garden, eateries and souvenir shops. In the evening, you can just walk over to the lake garden for paddle boat riding, see the sunset, or cycling. There is a foodcourt next to it with plenty of stalls selling delicious local dishes. Service was excellent, check in process was smooth and fast, friendly and welcoming staff. The room is spacious with a stunning view of the greenery surroundings, mountain, lake and building. Comfy bed, strong wifi connection, and nice swimming pool. The price is much more affordable compared to bigger city areas. Highly recommended.
