After taking a KLM flight from Beijing to Argentina with a layover in Amsterdam, I found the airport had plenty of chairs suitable for lying down, perfect for passengers on overnight flights to rest 😴. But shortly after lying down, I heard squeaking noises and then saw a little mouse 🐭 scurry by right in front of me. After a while, another one appeared, and then a little later, three more showed up! A big mouse leading two little ones. My goodness‼️ There were so many mice, I glanced at the nearby Starbucks ☕️ and was relieved I hadn't bought any food. Sleepiness instantly vanished, I wandered around the airport ✈️ and discovered that Amsterdam airport is quite beautiful, with shops selling souvenirs everywhere, featuring tulips 🌷, Dutch 🇳🇱 clogs 👟, and even Van Gogh art 🖼️ derivatives. Along the escalators leading to the VIP lounges, there were also colorful ceramic Dutch houses 🏠 as decorations. It turns out these ceramic houses are special gifts 🎁 from KLM to intercontinental business class passengers, filled with Dutch gin 🍷.

I love this city full of European history. restaurants can be found each blocks. Hotels from 5 star to 2 star are available near the train station. the most exciting having dinner beside the canals with lovers. souvenir items are easy to find. Due to labour shortages in the Netherlands, the Schiphol airport is unable to cope with the usual passenger numbers. The three main problem areas are the security check, the immigration and the baggage handling. If you must depart from Schiphol airport near Amsterdam in the Netherlands make sure to check in early. You are allowed inside the terminal building not more than 4 hours before the flight. It can take up to 3 hours to pass the above mentioned bottlenecks. So make sure you plan your trip accordingly. The plane landed at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, Netherlands at 9:30 PM. I left before anyone else because I didn't have to wait for my luggage. Normally, the airport here is very busy, but it was late at night and it was arrivals, so it was very deserted. There were hardly any tourists. I went to look at the booth to buy a train ticket to Amsterdam Centrum to go to the hotel I had booked, but... A short but sweet stay before my flight out ❤️ Always liked the renovated Sheratons - I think their attempt to shake off the oldie reputation is working for me very much! 🍀 Modern design with bright cheery colors - what’s not to like? My first carpeted floor of this trip too yay. Great sized room with functional everything including plenty of power spots will suit the modern traveller very much. Bathroom is plenty adequate for solo pax and serves its purpose well 🎊 Sheraton Club also shares the modern cheery theme with opening hours of 7am-11pm, with 4-7pm being dinner time which was sufficient for me. Drinks were decent too with a palatable sparkling on offer 🍽️ Location was the draw here, directly connected to the terminal. Nothing beats convenience like this even as my flight out is not early 😆 I’d like this type of hotel for my city stay next time pls!

|I had to stay at Schiphol Airport for half a day when I was transiting in Amsterdam and returning home. It was too troublesome to go in and out of the city, so I decided to stay at the Sheraton Airport Hotel for one night. Come out of the arrival hall, walk through a large airport mall, there is an escalator at the entrance of the train station. After going up to the second floor, there is a passage connecting to the hotel. It is easy to find. As an airport hotel, some rooms feature airport views. Although there is a terminal between the hotel and the apron, you can still see some beautiful takeoff scenes on the runway in the distance, especially the flying arc against the sunset, which is very beautiful. I used the Marriott suite voucher to upgrade myself, so I could watch the planes take off and rest in a slightly larger room, making the journey back home a little easier. The suite has a simple layout. There is a short corridor after opening the door. The living room is on the left and the bedroom is on the right. The living room has windows on two sides, the west window faces the runway, and the north window faces the left side of the terminal building. The west window is the best place to watch takeoff, especially at sunset, when you can see planes soaring into the sky before the afterglow of the setting sun. The furniture in the living room mainly includes sofas, coffee tables, dining tables and chairs, sideboards and floor lamps, and the space is very spacious. I like to move the coffee table away, put out a yoga mat, and do a keep exercise following my phone. The bedroom window faces north, facing the right side of the terminal. You can see another runway from here. Some large intercontinental aircraft take off from this runway. You can see flights of Singapore Airlines, Etihad Airways and Cathay Pacific. However, the terminal blocked most of the runway, so you could basically only see the planes getting ready to taxi, and then they were already in the air. The bedroom is also spacious, with a set of sofas and floor lamps next to the bedside table on one side, where guests can lie down and read or watch TV. The hotel's executive lounge is small and happy hour ends at 7pm. The daylight hours in the Netherlands are very long in early summer. It was still sunny at 7pm, but dinner in the lounge had already ended. Compared to Europeans who are used to starting dinner very late, 8 o'clock is considered average, and this happy hour that ends at 7 o'clock seems to lack sincerity. So I went to the hotel's fine dining restaurant and ordered a soup, a lamb chop and a mint tea. After eating, you can go back to your room and continue to enjoy the sight of the plane taking off.
